A good power hub
A good power hub that gives piece of mind with the extra surge protection. This is the fourth one of this make I have bought for various high plug requirement parts of my home such as office etc. I bought this one specifically for Christmas lights power and it has worked excellent.

Well made
The sturdy little box is ideal for under a computer desk to accommodate the multitude of plugs that live there. The surge protection is a bonus, though fingers crossed, Ive never needed one. But it does protect the kit from power surges and spikes. The tower shape means that it doesn't take up up as much space as either 1 long extension lead or even 2 normal ones. The cable is a decent length too. The individual sockets are decently spaced , so smart plugs or chargers dont foul each other. Just be careful you don't overload this, remember the total load should not exceed 13A. The built-in USB ports are handy, but I could have done with more - at least twice the 3 fitted. They are well rated and do "fast" charge devices that support it. Don't do this at home, but, for interest, I did take it apart ... Internally it is well made with correctly rated wires and components. Each pair of sockets are on a custom PCB and there is a power supply for the usbs. All solder joints are clean and solid. I didn't see anything the would worry me. While apart, I fitted a smart relay inside the enclosure so I can remotely operate the power. Safety warning:- Don't do any of this unless you know what you are doing.

sensible plug orientation, 64inch cable
This is neat and sensible way to arrange plugs. You can plug in 8 plugs and in addition there are 2 blue USB outlets and a PD (USBC ) which can deliver 20 watts The main cable is 64" long so it will reach down to a skirting board height outlet from the desk if needed. The plug sockets are orientated in sideways not up or down configurations which means you dont have to think about one large plug disabling the next one. We have one of those tall tower plug extensions which look good on paper but arent useful on a desk due to all the wires needing to sort of drape up the tower, this is much much better because the highest a plug needs to reach is two plugs up and it is very stable. It has surge protection so it is very useful for a desk with computers etc plugged in. There is a reset button if it does get triggered to cut off power. 2 green lights show the extension is powered. There arent any on off switches . The whole thing is 5" x 5" and 6" tall. While it takes up a 5" square space, the top is flat so you could have your phone holder sitting on top to make use of that space.

Plug and play
A very handy bit of kit that ticks all the right boxes for me. Eight three-pin plug sockets is actually more than I need (least at the moment) and I liked the way the sockets are positioned sideways so it's possible to use those plugs that incorporate a built-in transformer (useful for different sets of Christmas tree lights for example). Only one type C port might be of interest to you, should it be two and only one USB port, it has two of these. Another thing worth knowing is the cable length, about 160 centimetres (just over five feet). The base has four rubber pads at each corner to prevent the tower from sliding about and there is a green light to confirm it's working. Read the 'About this item' at the top of the page for the tec specs and have look at the exploded graphic of the insides, it looks impressive. The tower has a contemporary look so it wouldn't look out of place in a domestic room setting.

Solid, good capacity and surge protection
This is nicely designed and compact 8-gang multi socket extension with 2 x USB and 1x usc ports to enable charging a variety of device. It’s a lot more compact, smart and robust than a rditional long, rectangular multisocket (and a lot neater too). The lead is generous too (1.8m) and the materials/plastic seem pretty robust. Eight three-pin sockets is more than adequate for most electrical/device hubs and it’s a neat and practical solution for better a cable management solution in these areas (e.g around the back of the TV). The surge protection provides peace of mind also (particlaly if you intend to use the power tower ‘fully loaded’. Price wise not the cheapest, but still not unreasonable value given the design, features and safety.

Compact and looks funky
This power tower is nice and compact, and has a really cool look to it. There are ample sockets for your devices, and the USB slots free up more plugs (like phone chargers etc), meaning tht hopefully you won't run out of sockets! It's surge protected, which I like. I can't say if it actually works mind you as, to my knowledge, we've not actually had a power surge! But it's reassuring to know that it should be there if needed. My main complaint is that the cable - at 1.8m = could have been a bit longer. I'm limited as to where I can place it, but that's a minor niggle for an otherwise good bit of kit.
