Works great! This was purchased to replace an identical one that I have had for a few years! Takes up less space that other phone holders. I also love that you just pop the phone on and off without having to fit it into a frame. Easy to do one-handed. The adhesive holds the mount securely. I do wish they sold one packs, because now I have an extra that I didn't need.

Took a trip to the coast with my sister and she had a similar phone mount. Had never used one but was immediately spoiled. Had a set waiting on me when we got back home. Now I have one in every vehicle I own and the work delivery van. My particular phone case is thin enough to get some solid attachment. However the case my wife uses is crazy thick and it just slides off. The great thing is these come with a secondary magnet for that particular situation. With it stuck on the outside of her case, you really have to yank on the phone to get it free. Super sturdy over bumps and the mount does not rotate once its set in position.

So got these in the other day. I'd been looking at mounts for a while now and wasn't really thrilled at possibly clip-mounting to vent, and didn't want a windshield mount, so my options were fairly narrow. I thought I'd try these for as cheap as they are cost-wise, if they didn't work out I could just chunk them. I have a Note8 and I have a really basic cover for it that is easy to take off and put on, so I decided to mount the metal plate on the case rather than the phone as I feared the plate would interfere with the wireless charging capabilities of the phone. I have an '08 F150 and sort of limited to mounting positions so mounted the holder just to the left of the stereo. The holder sticks great and the case/plate sticks to the holder securely, so it was a win in that respect. The angle can be adjusted and appears that there will be no problems with it vibrating loose out of position or falling. So back the wireless charging..............yep, as expected the plate interferes with it, but I can easily remove the case and put the phone on the charger without it, so slight hassle there and hence the knock of 1 star off the rating. Cool thing too, is that this is a pair, so I mounted the other one in my car and same story there. Secure mounting and holding. However, I've read a few reviews where it fell off. It may be that it wasn't mounted on a 'smooth' surface as some cars have a 'granulated' or rough feel to them, who knows. I know that both surfaces I mounted mine to are smooth and I'm amazed at how strong the double tape is that holds the holder.

I have bought several others that dont work quite as well as this one. Each of my cars has this in it. The magnet is strong, and it stays steady.

I tried using these to set up my carplay. All the tripod stands have the same issue, the stickiness is not strong enough. Even though I used 3 of these and bought extra magnets I had a hard time trying to get them to stick to my dash. I’m even considering buying duck tape or something stronger at this point. I was able to figure out the set up since I used extra sticky pads from another brand, but I don’t know if it’s gonna hold up. Again, for this time around I didn’t use it for my phone, but even if it was that, I don’t think this thing will last by itself.

First, I purchased these cell phone mounts in September 2020. I have loved them and still love them, even after one broke. I prefer a stick-on mount over a suction mount because it stays put. In contrast, all suction mount cell phone mounts lose their suction after a few months and need to be re-mounted and over time, the suction cup becomes less pliable and it doesn't stay put for any reasonable amount of time. Also, I like the ability to just place the phone on the mount and being able to take it off without needing to release anything. The one downfall with magnetic mounts is that if the phone has any wireless charging, the thin metal plate interferes with that ability to do so. The metal plate must either be mounted on the phone itself or a phone case if you have one. The latter is preferable because you will not mess up the phone by adhering a metal plate to it and you could always take off the case to charge wirelessly if needed. As for why I am writing the review, as I mentioned at the beginning, one of them broke. Specifically, it was the part that the ball goes into and the phone itself mounts on. The issue is that the threading on the part broke. This is because instead of being a full cylinder surrounded by threads, it must be four pieces to allow it to squeeze together a bit to tighten the grip around the ball joint. The threads are made of plastic. In conjunction with this being in a car where the temperature can go from well over 100 degrees to the 70s in a matter of minutes in the summer after one turns on any air conditioning, I would think plastic is less able to handle that than it was made out of metal. So if the mount is loose in the summer, instead of just tightening it more, it should be taken off and checked to make sure the plastic is not already cracked. If you look at the picture I included, you will notice three of the four parts that the threads are molded into are broken off. I will say that it was not difficult to just take off the mount to place another one on after getting it. Also, if needed for some reason, the magnetic portion from the part in the picture can be removed by removing a screw so one could reuse it. However, as I mentioned, I love this mount. That is why I purchase another set. I would have given it 3 1/2 stars if that were possible since I feel that it is in the 3 1/2 to 4-star range, leaning more to the 3 1/2 stars though.
