My potatoes are happily growing in their bags. Those of you that have not tried this may be wondering why the plants are so low. In bags, you plant in a mixture of potting soil and garden compost, but don’t fill the bag. After they start growing, add more mixture to cover up the plants. When you see leaves again, add mixture again. I do it 2 times total. Now, are you asking why not just plant in the ground? When you lift the great little flap to harvest rather than dig around with a pitchfork, you will say , “this is genius!” And these bags came with labeling tags. The old, ugly bags in the pic are being used as an experiment. I have never believed you have to cut the seed potatoes and let them sit and scab over before planting. Old bags have cut and immediately planted, new have the scabbed.

I used grow bags last year and it was difficult to determine how deep I needed to water. While I don’t have baby potatoes visible, yet, throw the window, I do open it to see if the water is reaching deep enough. Very impressed with the sturdiness. I rolled each bag down to begin with, to about 1/3 depth and rolled up as each plant grew, to add more soil. The bags are holding their structure very well, even before adding additional soil.

Good for small garden

These are made of thick, strong fabric. Haven't used them yet, but I've used other quality bags and the material in these equals/surpasses them. Really pretty colors. Arrived on time. : )

Well we found potatoes in our new garden. So we got these just trying to move them to a better spot. Put them in and put a drip line on it. Honestly the drip line just kinda sits on it as its too deep to install correctly however the bags are helping produce and can see if we need more water or have too much.

These are very sturdy and thick. The seams have held up all summer so far and the colors haven’t faded. Nice grow buckets.

These bags are very well made and should last a few years. The flap is hard to open because the velcro is so strong; but not a completely bad thing.
