BOSS Harmonist Guitar Pedal (PS-6), Blue

Just for context, I'm playing on humbuckers, into a Orange combo amp. To be honest, I pretty much bought this pedal for the s-bend effect, and I've been pleasantly surprised to find that that part of it is what I tend to use the least, as the rest of the effects offered are actually quite musical (maybe besides the chorus or "detuned" effect which is just meh). The pitch shifter effect is actually incredible sounding, and with the ability to choose up to three voices, allows for some really cool stuff to happen to any simple riff you may have. It's nice when you go from three voices above to three voices below, and realize that what you are playing can practically act as two entirely different sounding songs. That being said, the s-best feature is crazy awesome, and definitely worth the price on its own. Yes, it can produce some funny stuff, but when you've dialed in a nice pitch shift with some overdrive going, it's like nothing else.

Great little pedal for adding a bunch of selectable harmonies to a single note. I play the sax, so having the freedom of selecting the key you're in is great. It does an amazing job of harmonizing. The down side is that it's on the floor. This means to change keys you'll be bending down on a dark stage with a sax (maybe a guitar) hanging off your neck. I tried setting it on a stool where I could more easily reach the knobs, but then there was the problem of cancelling it with my foot I've taken to setting it to the key of some song at the beginning of a set and using it then. Between sets I change the key if I need to, but between songs there's just no graceful way to get at it I like the pedal simply for the harmonies and won't return it. I haven't found any use for the s-bend or other affects, but that's not saying you won't. It's probably a guitar thing. Just be forewarned, it's execution is favorable but the design really fails. UPDATE: I found a piece of plastic tuning that fit snuggly over the "key selection knob" and cut off a piece that brought the ability to turn the knob and change the key up to where I can change the key without bending over. I leave the harmony knob on a third.

When using a battery, it only lasts about 10 min, and that’s even when using a good quality battery. It doesn’t come with a power cord and so now I have to purchase one, and I don’t even know if that one will be compatible with it.

Awesome pedal even though I won't ever use two of the modes on it, but the other two modes make up for it. The harmony feature is great for in the studio or at home fooling around but on stage live it's too hard to see the key knob and a pain to keep changing if you play in a lot of different keys like most bands. That being said, I just use the pitch shift knob, works great in any key and works on chords as well as single notes unlike the harmony mode. As far as the detune, I like most players, already have a chorus pedal so I'll never use that mode either. But finally, the S-Bend mode is worth the whole pedal. You can pull off everything from Tom Morello'ish licks to Black Keys to Slayer, and when you add some delay, you can get some cool sounds for live play.

J'ai acheté/testé pas mal de pédales d'harmonie, dont la première Harmonist (BOSS HR2). Cette PS6 est vraiment bonne. Elle sonne plus froid que la TC Quintessence mais le tracking est meilleur. Je l'utilise principalement en mode "tierce supérieure + quarte inférieure". Grâce à la sortie stéréo j'ai l'impression d'entendre Friedman et Becker.

It's a clever harmonizer that can do so much. The tracking is perfect and it can do many other effects like whammy and chorus. Anyone considering it should watch a few you've videos on it first because there's too much to explain. I bought this pedal and the new version came out like two days later which is fully polyphonic. This version has more built in options and seems to be almost a totally different product because the modern version is simplified but polyphonic . If you don't mind the monophonic limitations this pedal can do so amazing stuff.

Como Whammy está excelente, para crear harmonías con el modo menor o mayor también está excelente, como harmonizador por quintas u octavas arriba no funciona excelente, pero con octavas hacía abajo funciona excelente, el modo detune es muy útil al usarlo stereo.
