When connecting to a full bottle of Argon\/CO2 the round pressure gage doesn't show the gas pressure inside the bottle. Why?"

It’s only for release gas thru the gun pressure. When you pull the trigger the gas ball will go up to the desired level you set. When out of gas the ball stops moving when the trigger is used.

Will this fit my Harbor Freight mig 170?

Yes the hose fitting should fit that welders gas solenoid. The regulator fitting to the tank is standard. HF also sells a decent regulator which is what I ended up buying.

I just received my regulator and it did not come with the hose as it stated on Amazon

You got the box I had to return because it did not have a hose in it. Call Amazon. The amazon operator eventually will understand you received an incomplete order and will send you by email a return label. Do not send the first box back until they send you another box that is correct and tested by you. My second box was complete and has been working fine for 5 months on a weekly basis.
