This does what it says on the box....and more!
Having previously bought a cheaper item, that had terrible sound quality, my initial impression of this player is a very good one. The earphones supplied are pretty good, but you really hear the sound quality through blue tooth headphones or speaker. There are plenty of equalizer presets, and one you can customize for your preference. It takes an SD card much bigger than the 64GB one supplied, I used a 512GB card. My files are all in FLAC format and I cant fault the sound quality. Some of the apps require subscriptions, such as Apple Music and Amazon Music and Spotify, but it comes with a free player too, just register an email address to access all the functions, such as a customized equalizer setting. Connects to wifi and bluetooth easily. I am looking forward to getting some audio books...and btw it has a sleep timer too. One thing you should be aware of if you listen to radio stations using the inbuilt app, you must use wired earphones as the wire acts as the antenna.

Customise to get the best out of the G1
I've had the G1 for nearly 2 years now, and it's a great little device PROVIDING you take the time to bend it to your own usage. As it stands, when you first receive it, and use the inbuilt apps, you are restricted to a very structured system that needs you to buy the appropriate accounts such as Spotify etc. and use the Hibby inbuilt player app. Even with those restrictions, it works ok. However the get the real best out of it, you need to bypass the inbuilt restrictions regarding installing your own apps. For the life of me, I can't understand why this simple freedom has been rmoved, except, perhaps, to reduce support calls from people who may have trashed their players system. If you do want to make the player eally work to it's best, activate the Developers Options (look it up!) and side load your own apps. Providing the apps work with the version of Android on the player (mine is 8.1), there are thousands of extras you can add should you wish to. Personally, I just wanted to change the appearence of the system and add my own choice of music app. So I'm now running Microsoft Launcher for the look and feel, and Pulsar music app, which then matches my tablet and phone usage. For the price, the g! series is well worth buying, and I've become inseperable from it!

Good MP3 player
bought 10th Nov 2023 I wanted to give this player a good try-out before I did a review as some of the reviews nearly put me off getting it. I mainly use it in the car to play my MP3s when I am out and about, I carry it in my pocket and it has always connected first time when I have started the car and displays the artist and song, some reviewers have said that the battery is losing charge or will not charge to 100% when they have used it, I have charged it about seven times so-far and not had this problem, the charge has been as low as 38% when I have put it on charge and it has always went back to full charge. I would be happy to recommend this to friends or family as a cheap and easy to use MP3 player.

Great at first ... and then ...
I loved this little beauty to begin with. It was sturdy and easy to navigate. I actually wanted a small portable player for Audible ... and this was the only one I could find - and being able to fit all my music on it as well and having a radio was an added bonus.. I didn't need all the other stuff (Facebook, Twitter etc.) - so I deleted those programmes. I tried it out on day one ... and thought it was brilliant ... so I ordered the case and cover. There was no SD card - but I had already bought a 512gb micro SD card for the player. When I set it up I installed the SD card. It said nothing about formatting it on the player (and there was nowhere to do so) or in the instruction booklet - so I didn't bother. It was so easy to transfer the files - and it was just the way I like it - making your own folders and sub-folders - and it was readily recognised on my laptop as two separate folders - SD card and internal storage. There was also a choice of an ordinary music player and the Hiby Music player which wanted too much of my private details - so I picked the basic one. I spent ages transferring music and sound files. However, the next day everything seemed to re-format itself. The basic music player disappeared and I was forced to have Hiby, the folders I created had gone, and the SD card & internal storage files no longer appeared on my laptop. When I checked the SD card - I was instructed (this time) to format it. So I deleted all my files and formatted and removed the card. I then did a factory reset - hoping I could return to the basic player I had in the beginning. No such luck. The SD card was not recognised at all, I could no longer make folders myself, I could not even transfer files to the internal storage. The player now had completely different folders and layout! Weird. I am so disappointed - as this could have been a great little player. I have also wasted money on a cover, protector and a SD card - which cannot now be used elsewhere. Obviously, I do not recommend you buy this - but if you do ... test it before transferring all your files and wasting your time.

Audible does not show library so set region to UK
Very dissapointed as should have told us to change region to UK before signing up for Audible app. So wasted ages looking on net. So be warned set it to your region or shows library as blank. Amazon is glitchy to play music that I downloaded offline as well and keeps saying it needs to connect to the Internet. Two reasons I bought this was for amazon and audible. The Mp3 Player Is fine as it has touch screen and installed apps. Headphones are brilliant and sound. Can't blame them for amazon, but they should really have a simple update feature for the none technical. Audible works on my tablet so it is not my fault that the library does not show up on Mp3. If anyone has a workaround, please share.

My daughter wanted her own music player and this one has been great. Only had it a week so time Will tell but so far it exceeded our expectations - she was excited that it has a chrome app so she can also search the internet and watch YouTube

Our son struggles with ADHD. His school allows him to listen to music while doing his school work during the day! This has improved his focus and desire to complete his work.
