Excellent quality! Great price I bought it probably 4 years ago and I still haven't made anything with it luckily it's beautiful enough to just sit there! Cheers

Hardened
This Damascus is beautiful. One thing you should know is that it comes quenched and hardened. It is a pain to drill through without carbide bits. Buy this, by all means buy it, but realize you will want to anneal it before working with it.

Poorly welded damascus/great customer service!
After many hours of work, found several inclusions/separations between the layers. After all the work, billet was useless for my intended purpose. So much time wasted. -UPDATE- GREAT customer service! After writing the company about the issues I had, they immediately sent me a new piece of steel. This second one was just completed and was much better constructed. Some minor inclusions on the edge, but nothing that I could not work around. The new piece was solidly welded and worked great.

.
Strong stuff. Not sure if it was really annealed when I got it. But made an awesome knife.

DO NOT BUY
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! This damascus was made with internal defects. I had spent a pretty penny on this damascus trying to use it to make a knife. Well, while making this knife through stock removal I began polishing one of the ends and found a 3/4" defect in the middle of the metal. I tried grinding it out. Didn't work. I don't know how deep the crack goes, but the knife is worthless. I can't sell something I know is defective. Thanks...... :-(

It is exactly what they advertise. This steel is extremely tough. I bought this for my first attempt at making a knife. While cutting it to shape I first used my band saw with a fresh blade. The band saw lost, loosing all of its teeth it barely scratched the D2. My angle grinder succeeded where the saw failed. Files barely touch this stuff. It is extremely difficult to work with.

Knife making blank
This is a good chunk of steel. I forged it out to a Bowie and heat treated it. It sharpened up nicely! Tjhanks.

Could be good
Father inlaw is an amateur knife maker and getting national recognition but he had a hard time working thus metal, kept splitting on him. Could be his fault, not sure of the quality.
