I bought this Officemate hanging file organizer to retrofit a used desk that didn’t come with any built-in file rails. Easy to assemble, works well in desks without hanging folder features.

As many other reviewers have noted, breaking the side rails down to the size that fits your filing cabinet is by far the most difficult part of the assembly process. The company's recommended method of placing the rail against a flat and sturdy surface and snapping the rail along the perforation with pliers is going to be impossible for all but the strongest individuals. I am a man of average strength and I was unable to break the rails this way. My solution was using my hacksaw to deepen the perforations until I was able to break the rail by hand. The rails then slid effortlessly into their supports and the rail system was installed in a matter of minutes. My antique filing cabinet is once again usable for its intended purpose, and the rails feel very sturdy and unlikely to fail in any way now that they are securely installed. For reference, my filing cabinet is wooden, 2 drawers, 14" deep and 12" wide, and this product fit into the drawers perfectly. This is a good product that I would purchase again if I needed to install rails in any filing cabinet.

These fit an older locking metal 2 drawer file perfectly. We'll made.

During my recent move, I misplaced the crossbars in the file drawer of my desk. This was a great solution. Very easy to put together in a few minutes.

I bought this to fit inside of a large bench ottoman. Had to cut the second one to fit. Works perfectly, Files are out of a file cabinet and i Have seating and a place to store infrequently needed documents. Threw out the file cabinet, sorted through my docs and streamlined them. Can open the bench top (also bought on Amazon) and place papers to be filed and close the lid. Hanging frames fit with enough head space to place "items to be filed " on top. No more loose papers on top of cabinet! Very happy.

The product is fine but they need to package it better. Two screws were gone and multiple holes in the package with two of the bars sticking out about 3 in. That's my review.
