I purchased these two years ago and decided that I can truly give an honest review after all of this time. I initially purchased these because there is little on the market to retrofit to a horizontal blind kit and I wanted to automate my blinds to open and close at daylight/dusk. These not only fit the cost effectiveness requirement, but I had heard about this company from their automated physical switch so I knew that they weren't strangers to this space. SmarthomeSolver on Youtube talked highly about them so I found myself already watching this company. The product itself is very well built and feels like it is made to last and the package includes everything you will need to install them with ease and I personally thought that the instructions and process was simple and easy to follow. They are slim and they also blend in very nicely as well. Since I needed multiples, I purchased the ones with solar panels and wound up with 9 total motors for 9 windows. The app itself is simple and nicely designed and it makes setting up and operating it easy. I linked everything to a schedule within the app and everything just works. I also set it up with geo services to allow it to sense when I come and go and open and close my blinds without any additional effort when I'm leaving and comping back. I also was easily able to link these to both Google and Alexa and use them interchangeably within my smart home network. Hubs have improved immensely and have made everything even faster to operate and I installed one on each floor of my home. They automatically link to the hubs now too so there isn't any setup there that I noticed when adding new devices recently. All in all, these have been opening and closing my blinds in my house every single day at minimum 2 operations per day and they have required little to no effort or maintenance. The one South facing window that I have with a solar panel in it has only required a charge once in two years as it consistently gets enough sun to counter its use. The rest of my windows are North facing and don't get much sun. I tried the panels in one device and overall, I don't recommend them if your windows are similar fashion. The app requires a certain sun level to charge which seems to not be very effective in indirect light. However, I do have to charge this one less than the others so there is enough to charge it some. Its also difficult to get behind the blind topper to unplug the panel and plug it in to charge so I just leave them off. Typically, they only need charging twice a year to date for me. The one time I had an issue with the app, I reached out to Customer Service for Switchbot and not only did they reply rather quickly but the app was fixed too. It blew my mind at how responsive they were. I haven't had any issues since and it was more of a display issue than a failure or issue with the servi e or device. Overall, after the blind devices, I've purchased hubs and plugs and was given a water leak sensor and everything has the same longevity and durability and I am quite pleased. I highly recommend these devices and highly recommend you check out their other products too for smart home solutions because they have been absolute workhorses for me.

Purchased the Switchbot blinds with hub mini. Here is my review. First after reading through other reviews I unpackaged the units and immediately charged the units for about 6 hours (much easier to charge prior to installation). Then I installed the unit, very easy to install. I didn't time my first installation but the second install to less than 5 minutes. The calibration takes less than a minute. The feature set is great. I originally just set a time to close on the first day and open them through the app in the morning, worked perfect. The second day I create an automation to open at sunrise and close at sunset - PERFECT. The feature set includes Time, Automate, close up, close down, light sensing, status of blinds (open or closed with percentage) as well as other features. The solar panel is a very nice touch and the app displays the battery status. One thing I would have like is a longer cable for the solar panel, I have a 3 to 4 foot overhang directly above the windows. I originally installed at the top of the window but didn't get enough light so I moved it down as far as I could, works better but I will just buy an extension cable to fix that issue. This is a great product. I was originally designing my own using an ESP8266 and a stepper motor. I would have spent more with less features so I bought this. THIS PRODUCT GREAT. Additional review of Switchbot motion sensor: Setup was simple since I already have a Switchbot hub mini. The sensor works well and has settings for short, medium, long distance and a light sensing feature which I am not using since my blinds are already dusk to dawn. The feature set is a little lacking. There are no unique tones so you have to use notifications from the existing ones on your phone. You can disable the sensor from the app but it’s buried a couple menus down and you have to turn it back on after it’s disabled, what I would have like to seen is a snooze button on the main menu where you could choose the interval ( 1, 2 ,3 hours.

Simple device that works great. Mounted these on some faux-wood 2.5” blinds. I’m big on home automation and should have bought these sooner. Simple to install and calibrate. Linked up with Alexa fine. The small solar panels aren’t too obtrusive and seem to work ok, even through my tinted/uv coated hurricane windows. A little pricey to buy individually, but the 3-pack on Black Friday was a good deal.

Overall, I’m a big fan of this product and highly recommend to install in pre-existing manual blinds. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease of set up both with the app functionality and integration with Amazon Alexa. I ended up buying two packs and installed them in my downstairs area. It’s nice to wake up and have the blinds already opened in the morning and then automatically close at dawn. There is a setting that can adjust to reduce the motor noise however, the blinds will just lose at a slower rate. Most of the time I don’t notice them, but if you’re sitting next to it, it will be noticeable when the blinds closed. I also noticed that it wobbles the blind closer and sometimes can leave it in a wonky position but honestly not that big of a deal overall. I like that it has been reliable the past couple weeks of having it. There’s been no issues with the motor or the mechanism and it is reliably opening and closing at the schedule times.

I purchased a single SwitchBot Smart Motorized Blind Kit and it worked so well I then bought the 3-pack for my other blinds. These are really easy to install with no drilling etc. The instructions were straight forward to follow and the app walks you through the process with step by step visuals. Aside from the easy physical installation, the setup within the app worked flawlessly first time for each one I setup. I charged them up before use and a few months later, I'm only now having to charge them up again which is as expected. I am using the included solar panels fitted on the windows but it's the middle of winter so I don't think they will perform as well at this time of year in any case given the low light. It's worth noting, the rod on one of my blinds is a bit stiff and not easy to twist, especially if the rod is pointing straight down (instead of holding it an an angle), this device is still able to open and close the blinds without any problem. I guess this will result in the battery life being shorter on this one but I was surprised it can open/close it with no issue. The Switchbot app is well thought out and has all the necessary settings you would expect. You can control the blinds via the app and set them so they auto open/close at specific times. The app also as the ability to automate them based on sunrise/sunset which I think would be the best choice. As a side note, whilst the app is comprehensive, after initially setting up within the app, I don't use it in any way to control them and instead I have incorporated them within Home Assistant as HA natively supports these Switchbot devices so I can control them along with all my other smart home devices. Great item and feature rich app. Recommended!

parowanie łatwe , instalacja łatwa, po tygodniu silniki zapomniały położenia i trzeba było na nowo kalibrować - poprzez usunięcie i ponowne dodanie urządzenia - bo inaczej sie nie dało , baterie słoneczne .....hmmmm tu jest chyba problem bo mimo że okno jest na południe to nad nim jest balkon więc słońce raczej nie pada bezpośrednio na panel - i chyba przez to zupełnie nie działa ładowanie , tak więc spróbuje dać panel na pełne słońce i jeśli wtedy pokaże że nie działa - to robię zwrot

Really happy with this purchase. I leave home before the sun comes up and was always forgetting to open my blinds for my plants. Now I set the schedule and forget about any of that all together. I was worried that the one in my quite shaded north window wouldn’t get enough light on the solar panel to sustain it, but I’ve yet to see it go under 80%. It’s just winter now though, so we’ll see how it does over the next few months. I actually wanted to replace all my blinds with cellular or zebra, but I’m glad I didn’t cause I wouldn’t be able to use these, and the options for those kinds of blinds are way more expensive.

What else can I say about these other than buy them if you have tilt blinds in your house. While some other options are out there, these are not only the most affordable but also reliable and has many integration options with other smart home platforms including Samsung SmartThings. Highly recommend!

Super happy with the product. Easy to setup and performs well. Wont recommend buying from Amazon, rather head to Switchbot and get them there. Amazon does not assist with issues/missing parts.
