UPPERCASE GhostCover Touch Premium Trackpad Protector with Matte Finish (MacBook Pro 14" (2021+, w/M1 M2 Pro/Max), Matte Clear)

Ever since the haptic trackpad, I've had issues where the click goes away because the trackpad is dirty and i have to clean in the crevices with rubbing alcohol to get it to click again. Since I bought this, it has prevented the buildup, and also made it easy to clean. Definitely a must have as its totally unnoticeable.

It has two trackpad covers which is helpful. It also has instructions on how to apply it. It does not feel like it has a trackpad cover

Protectors come nicely packaged without excessive plastic; basically arriving in a nice, minimalistic rip-strip to open cardboard folder. The package contained 2 protectors, so it was easy enough to just leave the spare in there for when I need it if you open it relatively carefully. Installation had the now customary detailed instructions and links to online, but if you’ve installed any kind of protective film/skin for a phone or similar in the last few years, the format’s much the same; hinge of tape to position it, bottom film, top film sort of number. Easy and, even though I was admittedly a bit ham-fisted with it, I managed to install it without any bubbles and with as full trackpad coverage as you’d expect. I would say it’s almost invisible when installed, and even looking at it now knowing it’s there, it’s hard to tell it is. In use, I haven’t noticed any less responsiveness or accuracy from the trackpad. You will definitely notice the slightly more matte feel to the protector though, which feels almost like a “paper like” iPad screen protector or something. It doesn’t really bother me too much, and even my friend who’s an Apple purist surprisingly actually preferred the feel of it with the protector installed. All in all, great trackpad protector and I’m so glad to have some protection on there. The price is a bit steep for what it is, but I guess that’s what you pay for when it’s been properly machined/cut and is made of decent materials, and is a small price to pay to ensure your very expensive laptop stays box fresh and functional as long as possible.
