I ordered this book as a retirement gift for a friend and fell in love with it! I ended up buying one for my husband and myself. I can't wait to explore all the opportunities listed with this book!

100 Trails, 5,000 Ideas is certainly inspiring! It makes me want to run out the door and plan a big summer hiking expedition. The book is full of beautiful photos of natural spaces across the country and around the world; each featured trail is described in some detail with popular attractions and natural features highlighted for the reader. There are even suggestions listed for hotels and other overnight accommodations.Think of this book as a launching point for your next hiking adventure. If you’re a heavy planner, there’s not enough information to get into the nitty-gritty details of your trip, but this is great for narrowing down destinations and sketching out a rough idea of what you’d like to do. It’s too big and heavy to bring on a hiking trip, but it’s a good read when you get back home and want to daydream about stepping out into the wild.

Gave the book as a gift to my daughter and her family before going on a 3 weeks trip with their camper.
