Two pairs of garbage.
Awfully quality control. I've tried two pairs (as pictured above) both have the same issue with the grind on the cutting knives. The design of the tool itself is spot on and if it were not for the quality issue I would be over the moon. I am an electrician and need good cutting edges. As these stand they will not cut through copper busbar or stranded cable. Maybe they are from a bad batch, I will try somwhere else.

I purchased these pliers to complement my Knipex pair as these have extra features but was let down by Kleins poor quality control. The overall finish is quite acceptable but the gap in the cutting jaws is not, they should never leave the factory like this. This is my third Klein plier purchase and probably my last as the first long nose pliers were fine, the second VDE long nose were very sticky but got better with some oil and these were the same but also faulty. I was going to return them but I decided to keep them to show other perspective buyers and as a reminder to just buy Knipex and save the hassle. I have purchased many different Knipex hand tools recently and have been very impressed, with all of them being fault free. I recently upgraded all my hand tools to Fujiya, Knipex, Engineer and Klein avoiding China made where possible (poor quality steel and fit & finish), and the stand out brands for me are Knipex, Fujiya, Engineer and Vessel screwdrivers. I only purchased one pair of Channellock long nose pliers and they went straight into the reject drawer because the fit and finish was so bad, never again. I have included some pics of the Kleins I received and my Knipex pliers which have had some light use.

These klein lineman pliers are the premier and premium set of lineman you can get. Klein is renowned for thier quality and best engineered tools. Although they are not invincible. I got my first pair when I got the entire klein journeyman set in 2019. Unfortunately Unfortunately after just 3 years they are no longer serviceable. This fault is all on me. Cranking down as hard as I can while cutting 7 12awg wires twisted together and using them as a full blown hammer has bent the center pin, causing wobble and cutter overlap. Despite the over abuse these lineman pliers did 3 32 floor plus skyscrapers and a hotel amusement park resort. This is the set you see in the pictures. You can see the damage done to the cutters by cutting pretty much every thing i needed too with them I have this new set, thanks to amazon and the klein lifetime warranty. There are noticeable changes from the first pair I had. The tape pullers are re-engineered and the crimper has a new small lug to use on smaller terminals. So let get this out the way, after working around several 15 plus year electricians I've learned the best set of lineman pliers are the closest set. It's not the tool but the electrician. I've watched those ppl grab a set of lineman from just about every manufacturer out there and they're work always comes out perfect. So it's really all about preference. There are lots of reason to get klein brand lineman pliers. When I got these yesterday it took 10 minutes to break in correctly. Then I did the light test with the cutters and jaws. No light came through the cutters and an even space in the jaws. I did the grip test next. Tied off 4 12awg wires, then gripped the wires with the jaws only. With someone standing behind me, I leaned back holding myself up only by the grip of the jaws to hold me up. I did not fall back. After that i hooked my fish tape up to my fence and used the tape pullers to pull myself down the driveway while standing on my skateboard. They worked great, no real hang ups, except with the occasional twist in the fish tape. The action was smooth. Next I did the let's see what they can do test. I took 3 12awg wire and used them to make a proper joint using nothing but the lineman pliers. They stripped, twisted and cut a perfect joint. There was very little flattening at the cut, I didn't even have to round it back out to get a red wire nut effortlessly on. The used the jaws to finish tightening the wire nut. As expected they were perfect. The hand grips are wonderful. They are paddle grips but with a round outer grip. They're both paddle and round handle all at once. When you cut 4 12awg wires you don't feel the snap in the handles. I took them to work today. I put away my j215s and use these to wire up office lights with 12/2 MC. They performed perfectly today, I couldn't be happier with them. The only disadvantage I see is the price. When I bought these in 2019 they were just 45 dollars. Today they cost 70 dollars here. In comparison that makes them just as expensive as the knipex equivalent but 2 times expensive as the Ideal tools equivalent. I own the Ideal equivalent model 30 34 30. Except for the handles they're both very much alike in craftsmanship and quality and engineering. I do very much recommend these lineman pliers. I also recommend a set of cable cutters to cut thicker items. Be warned from experience never crank down on your lineman pliers. You'll bend the pin and that will be the end of them. There will be no need to update this review due to the 3 years experience with my first set. Durability is outstanding product is outstanding warranty works enough said. Just get em
