Genesis 2 High Efficiency 48,000 Grain Water Softener, Digital Metered, On Demand, Up Flow

I reached out to Discount Water Softeners prior to making this purchase. They responded very timely and were very helpful. The Genesis arrived a day earlier than predicted - much better than later than expected. The install was not difficult. I found the directions to be detailed and easy to follow. Programing the unit was a snap. I had a question about testing the softness of the water after the install and the support team was very responsive and knowledgeable. As you can see from the test strip photo the unit is doing the job quite well. This has been a positive buying experience from beginning to end. Our well water is now softer than it has ever been since we've lived in this house the past 19 years. Not to worry, you can install this softener yourself and you will be pleased with the results. You can rest assured you will be happy doing business with Discount Water Softeners.

HASN'T WORKED SINCE THE DAY WE GOT IT INSTALLED, WHICH WAS IN FEB 2023. WE HAD A PROFESSIONAL LOOK AT IT AND THEY SAID IT WAS BAD. GOT A HOLD OF THE COMPANY AND THEY WANTED TO "TROUBLE SHOOT' IT. THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN ANOTHER COST TO OUR PLUMBER. WE HAD THEM TEAR IT OUT AND WE BOUGHT A NEW ONE. WE ARE OUT THE MONEY WE SPENT ON THIS GENESIS. AMAZON DIDN'T HELP EITHER AS IT WAS A SECOND PARTY BUY?!

System arrived as advertised. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Got excellent soft water after first regeneration. Looking forward to the promised savings on salt and water. Update (4/26/2019): This system is wonderful! Great savings on water salt use already in first month.

The water softener arrived within two days of ordering, well ahead of the promise date. The kit came with everything expected for installation. After reading through the instructions and setting the cylinder and salt reservoir in place, I got the proper site specific things needed to hook the existing lines into the softener. Installation took about 1/2 an hour, although since this was my first time installing a softener, I spent at least an other 1/2 an hour reading through the installation manual to ensure I got everything correct.

I bought a $900 Genesis 32,00 grain, on demand, digital metered, upflow water softener in 2017. In August 2019, the brine flow reversed rendering the system useless. I had several email exchanges with "Bill" (could not get him to talk via phone) directing me to instructional videos and step by step instructions on procedures to correct the problem. By the way, I am a builder with extensive plumbing experience. The problem persisted after several days of working on the problem and at the same time living with very hard water. Bills solution was for me to either take apart the entire valve unit to identfy further possible issues or send the valve unit to him for anaysis. I asked that he send me, as soon as possible, a complete valve unit so I could get back to having soft water again. I told him if it was not a warranty item after he analyzed it, I would pay for the new valve unit. His answer: Cannot do that which was followed by the typical bribble about manufacturers and their rules. I decided enough was enough and I ordered a simialr Fleck unit at $525 which arrived in just a few days. I took the Fleck out of the packaging and discovered an alarming fact: the Fleck and the Genesis were IDENTICAL. The Genesis unit is clearly a Fleck with Genesis labeling but with an arbitrary $400 more price tag. My lesson: you don't always get what you pay for! Buy a fleck at affordablewater dot us.

The water softener is great, I'm glad I went with the Genesis. It was easy to install myself and I can tell I'm saving salt already. The item arrived quickly by UPS.

In 2015 we installed the Genesis DUO in our home. It leaked horribly from the beginning and has been disassembled reassembled so many times it can be done blindfolded. It stills leaks. Over the years, we have spent countless hours trying to get answers from "customer service" to no avail. Last year the unit started behaving erratically, regenerating at random times during the day (its set to regain at 2;30am) and our water became so salty that it was undrinkable and unfortunately killed several house plants that got a saltwater bath, We contacted customer service again, and again were blown off and ignored. It is very clear that once this company has your money, you are on your own. They do not care and have zero interest in solving any issues you may have with their products or honoring the 10yr warranty. They will simply ghost you until your warranty is up then, will be happy to sell you a new unit! I would never recommend anyone buy any products from these shiesty clowns. There are many other (and better) options from companies that actually have support and honor their warranties.
