Awesome book. Enough interesting visuals and story to make a great coffee table book while aslo being informative enough with detailed techniques and recipes to make a great cook book.

We are loving this book as we are cooking as a family anf it's fun. We hear a new one is coming out and we will get that as well. It fun to see how and what others are cooking.

My husband is a "burger guy" - he could eat them every day. This book is not about toppings. It has great tips for ingredients, tools, cooking techniques, and "burger architecture" that will apply to any burger you make in the future. The book features George Motz's versions of regional classic burgers. The photos are enticing and make your mouth water. Many of the burgers make this Texas girl drool...and a few of them make me cringe...but they are regional favorites for a reason, and I'll willing to give them a go. My husband is happy...he's got a year's worth of burgers planned out for us.

This is a great book overall, not just a cookbook. When it comes to the recipes it does an excellent job, the instructions are both descriptive and precise. It is also an excellent read. Motz's writing and expertise on the history of the hamburger makes the best cookbook read I have encountered since when I first read James Beard's American Cookery about a year ago.
