I use this to wrap around the stove pipe of a portable wood stove and at points have the chimney glowing hot. If this stuff can withstand a glowing orange chimney I think it'll probably be just fine for your junked out Honda civics pushing weed eater numbers.Definitely not as itchy as fiberglass impregnated ones but still a little itch so you might not want to be rubbing it on your bare skin unless you're into that.

I like it. Frays after u cut it so I used heat shrink on the ends . You may have to tape it down first.

Solved wire and tubing damage where concentrated high heat areas were concerned.

In my case I used to cover hydraulic hoses that ran close to hot exhaust system as no way to reroute hoses.

Replaced rusted fuel lines with rubber and they were alittle to close to my exhaust to my liking. So covered them with this product and so far it’s working.

Easy to cut, and rolls inside itself easily to make a doubled layer. I used it on fuel lines, turbo oil drain, and starter wires. The 1 inch version opens up a bit larger than 1" when you compress it. Seems very good.
