Whereas this product does deliver as advertised with it's powerful opening of lids within it's size capability, they failed in their on-line and printed literature as to it's functions; i.e., they DID NOT make me aware up-front that inserting the batteries would automatically trigger it becoming fully functional and gyrating immediately ... and how to avoid such happening. It was a shock to me to see this product automatically activate and go through it's mechanical movements. It has since cooled down and behaved admirably.I did receive an e-mail from the seller regarding me that this situation would occur .... but only AFTER going through this design flaw.

I did have problems with this Jar Opener always working, but seller let me return it for a different one and the second one works like a charm. Both my wife and I have tried different "helpers" to open all the new containers that are almost impossible to unscrew, this one is the best and works every time. When open my jar of peaches that have been in the frige to get cold, I do need to dry off the condensation first.

IMO don't even read instructions in box. They are a disaster. Vendor here knows about this problem and is really trying to help people in advance. I received 2 messages day of delivery and day after, asking if it was working. So kudos to them being proactive.They send a QR code for video. I'm not sure how many 80-year-olds who are likely customers even know what that even is, BUT their kids or grandkids probably do. If you have no kids or want to get this sucker working on your own, read on.I used the Amazon video in the comments of the guy with glasses against the dark panel wall. Amazon won't let me see his name for you -- they flip my 2nd window trying to find it back here. That guy will lower your blood pressure fast and you will look at your new lid opener with complete and total gratitude.It's fabulous and worth the frustration of figuring it out. I'm a very smart woman and I never would have figured this contraption out w/o him. He goes on the good guys forever list. Remember, don't give up and don't feel stupid. It's not you.

I recently bought the same brand of can opener. I loved it so much as with my carpal tunnel it’s hard to use a can opener or the open jars. Once I saw how helpful the can opener was it was a no brainer to order the jar opener. Love it for opening my jars. I then ordered another set for my of can opener & jar opener for her 85th birthday tomorrow as she’s got a lot of arthritis in her hands. So this is helpful for people who have this issue too!

Battery clip pops out every time torque is applied to a jar and turn off the device. Gave it a 5 star cause it works as long as you hold the clip your fine. Needs a redesign bad....

i dislike that the battery cap pop open when the can opener is in use. had to use duct tape to tape it shut.

My 80 year old grandmother was having trouble opening things and I got this for her and it has worked perfect for her. She loves it and loves showing how it works when people come over.

Easy to operate. Great tool.
