2 month review
After reading loads of reviews, I was unsure what to expect. However, it’s a great strimmer. I live in the middle of nowhere and electric strimmer’s are a pain. Not only do I have a large garden but the surrounding area is left to do it’s own thing, I’d had enough at looking at long weeds and brambles so I thought I’d give it a go. Assembly was easy. People seem to struggle starting it and there is a little knack to it but if you following the manual it works fine. I find it floods really easily but if you’re aware of this you don’t make that mistake. Set the trigger lock on, prime it, 5 pulls with the choke on (from cold) no more, turn the choke off and give it a few more pulls. Never had an issue after the very first time when I flooded it. The brush cutter works. I cleared a lot of large brambles and weeds from the area surrounding my garden. The strimmer head is easy to change and after I’d cleared the big stuff away, I’ve only used the strimmer head. It is a thirsty machine, but I’ve found if I only half pull the trigger there’s plenty of power to cut grass and it saves a load of fuel. Yes you can adjust the running speed but I have it set so the idol runs correctly. The harness is actually really handy. I didn’t think I’d use it much but it makes handing it a breeze. A lot less back pain than bending over with an electric strimmer. I’ve had this now for 2 month and I use it weekly for around an hour continuously, I have a large area to clear. I’ve had no issues with it so far. Some people have commented it’s unsuitable for professional gardeners, I can’t comment on that, but for a regular people it does fine. Value for money, I’m tight and wanted a decent strimmer for a low price. Cheapest strimmer I could find for the engine size. My only regret is that I wished I’d have bought one sooner.

Absolutely brilliant bit of kit for the money
When my 30 year old brush cutter / strimmer finally gave up the ghost (estimate to repair was over £100), I started looking around for a replacement. I was initially put off this one by the price - it seemed too cheap to be any good, as equivalent machines from the big names are 3 or 4 times the cost. I eventually set my scepticism aside and went for it. I'm very glad that I did! I can't believe how good this is for the money! It took me about 5 minutes to put it together (I'm a Mechanical Engineer!) I put some 2 stroke mix in it and it started second pull. Runs like a dream and starts really easily. The quality is excellent and the auto-feed line head works really well. Given that an equivalent branded 52cc machine will cost you between £300 and £400, I still can't believe the quality on this for the price. OK - it may not last me 30 years like my old one (which I paid £200 for 30 years ago!!), but if I get 5 years out of it I will be more than happy! Don't be put off by some of the comments about it kicking when you start it. All petrol engines of this size will kick a bit if you don't have the right technique. Just pull it slowly until you feel the piston start the compression stroke and then give it a sharp pull (don't be tentative!) - mine starts first time, every time, with no kickback at all. Only slight gripe is that the shoulder harness isn't that comfortable compared with my Stihl harness, but there again I paid £50 just for the harness, so I'm not complaining at all (especially as this strimmer fits my existing harness no problems). Highly recommended.

Powerful, reliable, easy to start, but with a few niggles.
Item was received quickly and packaged well. I've had a few petrol strimmers over the years and to be honest, I didn't expect much from this cheap version. I needed something with power but also needed to keep costs down. I found the manual quite detailed and well written and followed the instructions to set up with no issues. The supplied fuel bottle was a little small and confusing to mix the petrol so I just used the one I've had for years to mix the required 40:1 mix. Primed it as described and gave it 3 pulls before it sprang into life with a lovely nice tickover. Anyway, I used it in anger for about 2 hours and it's fantastic. It cut through anything with ease. I haven't tried the blade yet, but so far I haven't had to. The line seems heavy duty, and I didn't use much at all. I only had to tap and release the line once in the whole 2 hours. The reason I dropped a mark is that the button that holds the trigger in doesn't work. Holding your finger in for long periods is painful so I need to think of something else to help there. The harness and setup will take some time to get right. I find I'm reaching over too much to hold the handles. Perhaps I should offset the handles over to the left a little. I'll take more time to set it up and probably replace the harness. So not perfect no, but for the price? Outstanding value. I'm happy.

Great first timer's strimmer
The construction was straightforward and the instructions understandable. The machine runs beautifully however there is a malleable plastic component inside the strimmer guard which got damaged on the first use. New strimmer users could benefit from being made aware that to extend the strimmer wire you need to open up the strimmer head by pressing in the two clips at either side. The wire needs to then be unfolded to release. You are required to buy 2 stroke oil to mix with your petrol. The strimmer comes with a measure-mixer but you also need a funnel.
