When I received this I put one of my old tapes in it and inserted it into my VCR and I was able to watch my tape, I have tried all of my old tapes and they work well, I plan on using this to transfer my old home videos to DVD. This is great to be able to salvage my old videos, thank you for a good product.

If you have lived long enough to remember VHS-C then you probably used one of these to watch your home movies. We have tons of footage on these small cassettes and need to replace our old player. This one arrived in a mailer, not a box, from overseas. When I opened the package it was obvious there was a problem with the flip door that holds the cassette in place. Also, the power switch was very loose and not working (after inserting my battery). Put my cassette into the larger one and could not close the door without wiggling everything that moved. Never even got it into my VCR because the motor would not switch on (no surprise)
