How wide is this item? Both at the base and the opening of the bottom basket?

It is about 71/2 inches wide on top and 12 inches wide in the opening of the bottom basket. The bottom basket easily holds 2 loaves of bread. It is nicely constructed and looks beautiful in my French country kitchen.
