Have you tried taking B12 for the energy boost you've heard so much about - maybe even the Methylcobalamin form that we all hear so much about - but you're just not feeling it? Or... do you have the MTHFR gene mutation, but are experiencing mood and/or anxiety problems when taking methylfolate? This form of B12 should help. I take methylfolate in divided doses usually twice a day, for a total of about 3,200 mg daily. When I first started taking methylfolate, I experienced some pretty bad mood issues - from anxiety to outright anger. The feelings of anger were the worst for me - there was no reasonable explanation for why I was experiencing this emotion. As it turned out, it was the methylfolate causing these mood and anxiety issues. So, I hit the books again, and discovered that taking extended release niacin should help. I started taking 500mg of extended release niacin each morning along with my first dose of methylfolate; and I did have some improvement, but not enough. This mood problem caused me to stop taking the methylfolate. As I knew I should be taking the methylfolate, I continued to study and look into the problem of the methylfolate causing the anxiety/anger issues. I discovered that the Adenosyl/Hydroxy B12 is not metabolized as fast as Methylcobalamin B12. Since the levels of this B12 stays available longer for metabolism, and is needed to help methylfolate, the theory is that it should help alleviate those pesky mood symptoms. Now, B vitamins should always be taken in a complete complex, or all B vitamin forms should be taken together, as they need each other for any one to perform optimally in the body. Also, B vitamins should be taken in divided doses at least twice a day. But back to the question of did this form of B12 help? Yes! It did help me tremendously. Not only did the anxiety and anger symptoms of taking the methylfolate subside - but FINALLY I was experiencing the energy boost that B12 is supposed to help with. Now, the energy I experience is not like gulping down a triple espresso latte; it's more like "Hey, I feel good today. Let's get that spring cleaning done." My mood has improved overall with a feeling that I have the physical energy to do those things I want to do. It feels good again to get out a move my body and use those muscles. I sure hope others find this supplement at useful as I have. By the way - this is a TINY capsule and very easy to take.

I am already taking a B vitamins pill. And my B-12 blood levels is already decent. But my doctor likes B-12 levels pretty high. I see some people take this because they have issues with more common forms of B-12. I don’t. I’m already getting decent blood levels. But I figured that if my doctor likes the levels even higher, it might make sense to add some additional forms of B-12. Therefore, I picked this product. And of course, Pure Encapsulations is a good brand with no fillers or stearates. I see some people with corn allergies have a problem with this product. I don’t, so it’s fine for me. The capsule is nice and small, easy to swallow. And my blood B-12 levels are now actually considered elevated, higher than normal. So, I know it is working. The first time I took one, when I peed an hour later, it was extra dark. I don’t think it meant anything, other than probably I’m getting more B-12 than I can use.

Very clear headed and functional, focused. Better than the Methylcobalamin for that, but it seems to "crash" a lot harder too or feel strange later on. Right now, I'm back to just Methylcobalamin... but this may just be my genes playing a role here
