Very fun game, but teach kids the flow of the game to avoid frustration
Retro Trouble is so much fun. The kids get drawn in by the bubble dice popper, and they get hooked by the fun gameplay. Warning! Every time I played with a new child they got very frustrated with being knocked back to home base when someone landed on them. However, it was a good learning experience in good game and s warning! Every time I played with a new child they got very frustrated with being knocked back to home base when someone landed on them. However, it was a good learning experience in good gamesmanship. After a teaching moment, the children learn to love the game even though it can be frustrating at times. Make sure to play with them the first time or two to get them up and running and familiar with the rules. After I did that, the kids played on their own instead of playing video games.

If you want a new trouble game that plays like the old one from the 80's and 90's this is the one you want. It's as close to the original as I can remember except for the yellow color on the game board which is more like a yellow orange but that is easy to overlook. Also the backing is a heavy cardboard instead of plastic but that is the way the world is with the cheapening of everything. At least the popper works like it is supposed too unlike the "winning games version" also available on Amazon that looks like the classic trouble. I bought that one first because I thought it was like the original trouble. Looks wise it's spot on but the popper is crap. The dome was all warbly looking and it plain didn't work because the metal didn't have enough spring to it. I should have read more reviews on it before buying. Anyway this version is pretty good. Probably as close to the original you will find except for the off colored yellow board and the antiqued looking die that is brownish instead of white. But these small asthetics are easy enough to overlook.

Vintage, as is the die.
It's great. The only downside is that the die is so vintage looking that we can barely see it with any glare. It's annoying, but the quality of the pieces is great compared to the new editions.

Great Retro Game!
Just like the original! Lots of Fun, and tears just like the original. Makes winning hard, may not suite younger child as a result. Recommended for children and adults alike.

The Trouble game I was looking for
I had purchased a "new version" Trouble game at Walmart for about $6 - let me tell you it was worth $0. Very flimsy, poorly made, sad sad version, when you popped the popper, the pegs would fly off. Very cheap. So onto Amazon I flew, searching for the "real" Trouble game. This one is solid, good quality, just like the good ol' days. So far, I've had lots of fun playing this with my grandsons. The cheap version from Walmart?...went right into the trash for Wednesday's pickup.

Its....Trouble.
The board game is exactly what you'd expect and is a good size. I included a picture of it with an xbox controller for reference. It arrived in perfect condition and the bubble dice popper works perfectly. Simple game for the family to play and the kids learn numbers/counting at the same time. The backing doesn't seem like the most durable, but I don't need it to last forever and I think with just a little bit of care it will be just fine for a long time.
