Gets a strong signal. Good vendor support if needed
I fitted this equipment to my Toyota Tacoma and it replaced a similar one I had fitted some years ago which had stopped working in cold weather. The printed instructions coming with it are not that informative if you haven't fitted a wireless camera before and the English is not brilliant to say the least. It is better to go to the vendors web site and watch the instruction video. Also you can E mail the vendor and get a response pretty quick. You have got to set the monitor to channel 8 otherwise you will not get a picture. The camera is easy to mount on the rear licence plate as it just uses the same screws used to hold the licence plate to the vehicle. I soldered the camera live 12v feed and the earth to the reversing light inside the rear light assembly. Do leave some slack inside the light assembly so that you can remove the assembly to change a bulb. I just fastened the wires from the camera to the existing wiring harness of the truck which runs under the truck bed using plastic ties . The little aerial that sends the signal to the monitor is about half way between the front and rear of the truck bed. I was concerned that with so much metal between the aerial and the monitor the signal would be weak but this was not the case the monitor receives a strong signal . The monitor just plugs into the cigarette lighter or a 12 v power socket and has a built in switch so that you can turn it on or off. The monitor mounting bracket is designed to attach to the front windscreen since it has a suction mount. It wouldn't stick on the dash because the dash material is slightly dimpled. The mount has a magnetic in it which the monitor sticks to so you can remove the monitor and leave the mount in place. My only problem is that the mount interferes with my sun shade which I put on when the car is parked. I have not tried the camera at night so I don't know whether the little LEDs that surround the camera lens do any good or not. To be honest I don't see the point of these since the vehicles reversing lights do the same job.

May have to buy another one for the other car
Installation was a piece of cake inspite of the lousy instructions... or lack thereof.Back up camera... streight forward... tie camera into the backup light. The monitor was another story. Had quite the time getting the video to come on. There are three unlabled buttons on the back of the monitor... one changes the monitors channel to match the camera transmitter... without instructions it took a while to figure this out... I did write the company... not much help.Signal on a 2006 Taurus was quite spotty. There is a white loop wire on the camera transmitter... no instructions to cut it or leave it alone. Same with the camera antenna. It is located about half way on the cable... hangs in the trunk behind the driver... again somewhat spotty reception. I contacted the manfacture about extending the antenna... response was not understandable.Picture was clear and sharp when working fine... I was pleased to learn there is a parking lines on the monitor. The lines are easly adjusted by moving the rear camera up and down... accurate for our application... I am considering another for a mini-van... just a bit concerned about the further distance between the camera and monitor.

"Wireless"? Eh... Works, Though.
Installation was a pain. Drills, cutting, splicing, etc. It's wireless, yes, but there's still a bunch of wiring to install and the instructions (in very broken English, mind you) are more or less utterly pointless. That said, it does work, it's waterproof (so far) and it's not bad once everything is in its place and you find a place for everything. The only criticism I have beyond the wiring for a wireless camera is the signal likes to drop out depending on where you have the wiring and the monitor located in terms of proximity of each other. It quickly reconnects, but if you're in the middle of backing up and it chooses to do that at an inopportune time, yikes. All in all, though, it does work and pretty well for the most part. The LEDs for night vision are utterly blinding, they do a great job of lighting the scenery behind you. Man, are they bright. No audible warnings, no color line swivel like some models have, kinda disappointing, but for the price, can't really complain. Just a thought, is all.

Good camera, could use some minor improvements
Good, basic, backup camera. Not sure why it has eight channels when the transmitter only transmits on one channel from the back. Picked up the local supermarket security camera one time on channel 8 :-). They could improve the adhesive on the back of the camera. As soon as it hit 70° outside in about 120° in my car the adhesive field on the back of the screen and saw the metal plate came off and it did not mount to the picked up the local supermarket security camera one time on channel 8 :-). I also have to find some heat resistant tape to secure the wires inside my vehicle on the dashboard. Nice that it came with an on off switch for the auxiliary port as hardwiring it in my particular vehicle was not possible without leaving it on constantly.

I bought this backup camera after researching online for a good cheaper backup camera. The price was good, it came packaged very nicely. I had the camera professionally installed, it seemed to work great at first. I started to have issues a week or so after buying, it would occasionally start having issues connecting to the monitor. This occurred more at night. As time when on the problem has gotten worse, now it works less than half the time and when it does the picture is so fuzzy it's almost worthless. Also the monitor has a magnet attached on the back for mounting. That has now come off due to the magnet being stronger than the adhesive used. I would not buy again.Update: After contacting the seller, they have agreed to refund my purchase as well as ship me a new unit. I have changed my review to 4 stars based on the good customer service, one star off for the inconvenience and the reliability. At least they take care of you if your camera does fail which is good to know.
