Brilliant for first time sewers.
I bought this pattern for my friend who had just retired and wanted to try sewing. He wanted to make his wife a dress. He managed beautifully. Only problem is, he made the size 16. His wife is a size 10. It drowned her, but it was beautifully made and he had no problems understanding the pattern I instructions. He has since made a dress in the right size and his wife is speaking to him again. Lol. Definitely would recommend for novices.

Nice easy pattern
Easy? Yes. One hour? No way! Even if you cut corners this dress will probably take most people an afternoon to make, by the time you've sorted out the pattern and cut it out. The instructions are to slip-stitch the hem - that alone would take (me) best part of an hour, but I machine-hemmed mine. I found the facings quite time consuming too. Easy because, apart from the facings, there are only four seams (two shoulders, two sides), no darts, no zips and no buttons. The instructions are well-written, clear and easy to follow. I made version D in a lightweight cotton lawn to wear as a beach dress/cover-up and am very pleased with it. It is quite loose fitting but if you use the appropriate body measurements on the pattern rather than use the dress size you normally buy it should turn out okay. I only gave it four stars because I think the '1 hour' label is misleading. I gave value for money three stars because patterns are, in my opinion, ridiculously expensive. I accept they can be re-used but even so the cost of the pattern adds quite a bit to the cost of the dress.

Easy to follow.
Used it 3 times. I am a ‘returner’ to sewing and this is a nice, easy pattern to make. Sizing is good. Will use it again.

Arrived very qu8ckly
I haven’t used a pattern for years however this is a classic that will suit everyone and keep you cool in the summer. I’ve purchased the materials and can’t wait to get started on the dress. I’m not sure how much patterns cost these days but I’m sure it’s a good price
