Sturdy and versatile. Did a great job on my 530 motorcycle drag chain!
I bought this to help me cut some links out of my 530 drag bike chain for my chopper. The pin held together really well without flattening out too much. I say "too much" because the tip flattened a bit, but given the size and hardness of the links on my big chain, I was expecting it. All I have to do is simply grind off the flare and it's ready for the next job. The presses worked well to hold the chain in place while I was pressing the master link in place. The handle is sturdy and I wasn't having to reposition my hand while using it. I could have spent 5 times as much for a similar tool, but I don't need to mess with chains all that often and this one did the trick just perfectly. I cannot report on how the pieces will do with a rivet-style link. Mine uses a clip. But overall, I'm happy with this tool for the price I paid!

Cheap material that easily break
Very bad quality.. Garbage at every level.. press plate are not usable as they move with diameters too small to align with pins. The tool did bent on first use I had to saw away the pin to be able to keep using other pin... The handle bar bent as well as the rivet flaring pin flattened and we unable to flare the DID X-ring 525 rivet. I wasted a tone of time.. hopefully I can save yours. Looked really promising but it doesn't live up to it. I do not recommend.

Handle needs help
Other than the handle falling out (as is the only way u can use it) otherwise perfect, maybe flatten one end so it doesn't fall out but still removable for easy case access still

A Swiss army box with plenty of pliers
Has about any plier you would need for these crazy clamps they put on vehicles nowadays.

Sturdy but dirty and pins bend
Product was supposed to be new but when I opened it there was grease and dead grass inside the case. The main components are sturdy but the 2.2mm pin started to bend after a few uses and the tip chipped on both 2.2mm pins. The different sizes are nice, though the riveter is difficult to use, there is nothing to hold/line up the chain link pin so it moves a lot. I had to get tweezers to hold it in place and even that wasn't enough.

Not durable at all
Horrible product, do not buy and spend a little more for a better product I’m not sure if I had a defect but the box arrived with all the pins and anvils out of position and the spring was bent Apart from that the pins are not durable at all. The 3.8 had bent right from the start and got stuck in the guide pin while the size above got stuck in the chain after pushing the pin out. This not only made me waste time trying to get the pin out but it also bent the push bolt so not the whole kit is unusable

Works great and a must have if you got anything with a chain

The metal of the tool is softer than the metal of the rivet. Barely good for ONE USE only. The rivet die deformed so much that it can no longer be removed from the tool. Complete waste of money. Buy a REAL $100 hardened steel tool instead. This is junk.

I love the quality of the tools from Orion, I've bought many different kits over the years and they've been great. I'm a licensed tech and have spent large amounts of money on the "trucks" in my day but there are other companies that have quality tools as well, Orion being one of them.

Found it complicated to use because sizes are not marked on the pins. The product is very oily which probably means it will rust easily. Haven't used it yet. Best to familiarize yourself with product before using.
