Great value backup
I needed a small backup generator that has "clean" voltage so not to wreck anything computer related-which is most things these days, when 30yrs ago any building site generator would do. Also I needed something fairly quiet so not to draw too much attention. Despite the usual "made in China" warnings, it is a nice running wee engine. Reasonably quiet with the insulated casing, but far from silent, you could have a conversation over it running. I like the eco feature, so that if running overnight or knowing you're only using up to 800W you can let the revs die back and it will just rev up as required, using less fuel and quieter at night. Not had a chance to do a proper run with it as no power cuts since getting it. Worth noting it's not waterproof, fine for me running in a car port, though be mindful not to allow fumes to enter your house if running nearby under cover. It has 13A square sockets, no 16A commando, prob as it won't be putting out anywhere near 13A, randomly came with a couple of 13A plugs to wire to your cable. Also comes with an earth connection- need to look into this, as generally we all just take the risk you won't have a fault requiring earthing the day your mains power is off. It is really light at 18Kg so could take it with you to run power tools off grid, if they're under prob 1500W. I've ordered another one for family, as would be light enough for most people to lift. Easy to start- I do a slow pull to turn the engine over and disperse some oil, then on second normal pull it always starts. Immediately turn choke off, or it won't run properly, I suppose if it was -5degC you might need to leave it on a couple minutes, you'll know by sound of the engine. Obviously let it warm up a minute before putting a load on it. At the price, it might not last forever, but certainly looks promising, though now I'm prepared I'll prob never have another power cut. Wise I imagine to start it very few months to stop petrol going bad in it. Worth checking in UK any of these you buy has 50Hz as some similar ones are marked 60Hz which might not suit lots of UK appliances. Small size means easy to store-compact.

RELIABLE!!! Brilliant!
Oh this is brilliant! Reliable, and runs the house fridge, fan and multiple lights, safe for laptop and phones being pure sign wave. Will be buying another one to hook up in series or as redundancy back up. But it’s used almost every day for a few hours for 6 months and never let us down. Interlocked with house by a professional. It’s not massive power but it saves us for the essentials we need as described.

Great generator for noobs who don't need a monster (like me)
I have never used a generator before, so I'm glad I got this one. I only write reviews for products I think are great and I don't get paid. For a beginner, then, this has excellent instructions, details of mistakes people might make and a guide to basic maintenance. I found this reassuring. I use it to top up an off-grid battery when the sun don't shine and for this it does the job nicely. Of course it makes a bit of a racket - it's a petrol engine, so I position it away from where I am, in a small plastic greenhouse with a 15m extension cable. The "silent" in the product title is optimistic at best. This also means I don't have to carry the thing around too much because it's heavy. It has a protective jacket which is useful when in storage. It's a little awkward to fill. The fuel tank is a cubic shape, so fil, fill, fill... and suddenly it overflows! Once I'd done this a couple of times, however, I got the hang of it and it's now it's fine. It will run for around 8 hours on a full tank, which I am guessing is around 5 litres. It being winter, I'm not using it much, so I will change the oil and clean the spark plug, just as the instructions advise. The instructions are very clear. and not in Chinglish. I have nothing to compare this generator to, but it's working for me and I find the instructions extremely useful. I've been using it regularly for about 6 months and it has done everything I have asked of it. The company has a very strange name, doesn't it? Don't let that put you off!

Too early for full review (updated)
Filled the oil, filled petrol, followed start up instructions. It started for 5 seconds, faded and won't start again. Contacted product support, let's see if it gets resolved, but not good for an almost £400 generator. Great support from seller. So, the oil was filled to the line, but on advice I checked again and added a tiny amount more. And lo and behold it started. Seems like this engine is very sensitive to oil level, which is good. Anyhow, it works, runs well, does what it is supposed to do. Only downside is that it is a little noisy when not set to Eco mode.
