Very handy light!
I bought this for my children and they absolutely love it. It's a great size not too big but not too small either. The light it provides isn't too dazzling or too dim its literally spot on. It's simple straight out the box plug and play. It's a nice quality It's not got a cheap look or feel to it. I like how you can remove it and it become a torch or pop it back into the holder for the light It's fantastic. Great to have around the home especially for such as a power cut with the torch feature its great. Highly recommend.

Ideal product - love it!
I purchased similar products many moons ago and in time they failed. I found these and they are a step up from my originals. We get a lot of power outages and this is when they come into their own. They are compact, work perfectly as a nite light and a handy torch but when we have a power cut - they are life savers. Every home should have at least two of these.

Great wee device
Excellent little stand bye device. If your power goes out, well, it comes on. The power consumption is negligible so no problem just leaving it in the charging cradle. Handy panel illumination which can be on or off. No stupid flashing mode (which quite a few of these things have) The amount of light is plenty to navigate a room but you are going to want more to really illuminate a room Con; The motion sensor is pointless as it's on top of the unit and is only activated if you wave your hand over the top of the unit. It's not going to activate if you walk past. Think on as to where your going to locate it as it really needs a wall socket in order to be upright rather than say a multi socket extension lead we all wind up using. Price: As a torch it's expensive and bettered by units at 1/2 the price but... they don't come on automatically. Build quality is fine for what it is. This isn't industrial emergency lighting it's a home product. Caveat: I bought this for my aged parents but have had a good play with it so this isn't some long term review

Already proved it's worth
I've delayed writing this review for a few weeks in view of the ONLY negative review. I can only assume that this reviewer can't have followed the instruction to let them fully charge before using or had a 'duff' item. I can't fault this item or the seller. I bought these for my elderly mother and me. Mum is disabled after a stroke, I am well-beyond the 1st flush of youth (!) & have arthritis & have mobility problems. Within days of fitting this, one of my neighbouring flats blew a fuse & my trip switch knocked my electricity out. This light came on and I was able to use it as a torch & turn the switch back on. You can adjust it to give out an ambient light or you can have it on a sensor so that the light comes on when the senor detects movement. The sensor is very sensitive & seems to have a wide arc & the light is a good strong white light. My mother is so delighted that she has bought more of these for many of her 'mature' friends &v relatives for Christmas. 2 for this price was really good value.

No need to be a mushroom...
For me a particularly attractive feature of this versatile bit of gadgetry is the power cut sensor: when plugged into the mains it automatically lights up if there is a power outage. There are 3 settings: 1) a dusk-till-dawn night light; 2) an 'everything off' mode; and 3) a motion sensor light. The power cut sensor works on settings 1 and 3. The motion sensor is pretty sensitive and reacts even in light shade (which actually can be a bit irritating!). What's more, this Nitesafe Duo light can function as a portable torch: it just lifts out of the cradle moulded into the front face of the plug. And it's perfectly cool to the touch. I haven't tested how long the torch lasts unplugged, though on one of the amazon webpages advertising this product I spotted a claim (under Technical Details) for 8 hours. If that is so, that's more than long enough to determine whether you've got a tripped switch or are the victim of a full-on power cut and need to ferret around dark cupboards for torches and the like that you know you had somewhere, just in case... In conclusion, it's a useful bit of kit. UPDATE Sept 2025. I wrote that some four years ago and they're still going strong. In fact I've just purchased another couple as they are so impressive. One I have plugged in near the fuse-box/consumer unit understairs so that if the power should fail there is instant light so that I can see what the problem is. Another I have in the kitchen to save switching on the strip lighting if I'm just going in and out. Another is on the landing. Its sensitive motion sensor makes up for the previous householder's lack of foresight in putting in a two-way switch at the bottom and top of the stairs! And so on. I've seen one or two reviews complaining of a lack of motion sensitivity. I've found that whether at ankle level or nearly nose level, the responsiveness of these lights is excellent.
