Great quality, value and service
It may seem a strange reaction to a shaving brush, but this seem to be great quality even when you unpack it. Feels right and easily produces a great lather. Much better than the one it replaced, which did not lather as well (a mixture of boar and badger) and started losing bristles within a few months. Excellent service by the supplier.

A real gem
Great brush. This has become my go to brush in my collection which now numbers 6 (2x badger, 3x boar bristle and 1 x boar/ badger mix). This brush will work with soap or cream (my badgers are really soft but completely lack backbone and so are useless with soap) The bristles on this are already a great quality even right out of the box (every other boar brush I've had has needed a lot of time to break in and start to soften up). It also loses very little bristles in comparison to my Omega boar (which seems to lose quite a lot). Excellent quality handle too - this brush is well made and will last. If I had to loose 5 of my brushes and could keep only 1 this would be the one I would keep (even though it cost a small fraction of the cost of some of the others).

Good brush but does shed bristles
I like this brush for it's stiffness, size and handle. It does lather up soap and creme well, and is easy top find a good balance between too wet and and too dry a lather. Mine didn't smell of boar or anything really, when I first had it, so I had no need to wash it or treat it in any special way. However I don't like the fact that it sheds a couple of hairs each time I use it. It is off-putting to find a boar bristle in your mouth when you have a sharp bladed instrument skimming your face. I've had this brush a month and maybe used it about ten times, and it's still shedding. I have had better brushes but will continue to try with this one in the hope that eventually the loose bristles have worked their way free.

Great brush for the price
Excellent boar brush, easy to break in. I face lather, so I need a brush with plenty of backbone. This brush has got that and once you break it in (takes a couple of weeks or so), and the tips of the hairs have split, it also becomes very soft. Produces plenty of lather for three passes.

Boar Bristle Model 830
After watching Nick Shaves a Youtuber nominate this as his boar bristle shaving brush of the year, I decided to give this a try. Once the brush break in, it felt great on my face, and become my go to brush. Its bit bigger than your average badger hair so If you have a shaving set with a drip stand, this might not fit in there. Its been 2 months since I got this and I haven't had a problem. Has a good backbone and works good with face lather and bowl lather. Worth every penny I spent on it.

Great addition to my shaving setup.
Broke in within 24 hours following youtube tips using washing up liquid, shampoo, conditioner then water with scented oil to remove any animal smell. Great brush with good back bone, flares out more than expected but lathers up soap and cream easily.

A damn fine brush. It needs to be cleaned with shampoo ...
A damn fine brush. It needs to be cleaned with shampoo before you use it and it gets a lot better with use. Also, make sure you dry it correctly.

Very nice.
A very nice addition if you have a couple of shaved brushes already. It needs a while to break-in but it's great for lather and exfoliation.

The Semogue 803 Premium Boar Hair brush is my favorite shaving brush. Mind you, not just my favorite BOAR brush, but my OVERALL favorite. I own some very nice badger brushes, but I don't like them nearly as well. I'd first like to address some negatives you hear about boar brushes, as they pertain to Semogue brushes. They smell bad (especially at first): Not Semogue brushes. They smell fine right out of the box. Stick your nose right in there, it smells fine, and mine came straight from the factory. They take a long time to break in: Not Semogue brushes. They're nice and soft, right off the bat. No, not as soft as a silver tip badger, but not scratchy at all. They don't lather as well as badger: No they don't. They lather BETTER, especially face lathering. Wet shaving is a real man thing and this is a MAN's brush. Cream or soap will both lather great and make you feel like you're really doing something with them. Buy one. They're cheap, and you can't beat the quality. Semogue's the best, and they look good too.

This is my second Semogue. This time I went for the smaller 830. And it has lived up to its reputation. It’s one of the more popular ones as it combines softness with enough bone. The shave is far better when lathered with this than a very soft, equally costly nylon brush used earlier which whipped a lot of foam. Remember foam is no indication of the quality of shave. Keeping all other ingredients the same, I got much smoother and closer shave with the Semogue brush.
