This colour looks great. It keeps him warm and dry
Bought for my son as he didn't have a waterproof jacket, he loves it, and it does suit him. This colour looks great. It keeps him warm and dry, has an attractive logo on the front, adjustable hood, decent pockets. It looks great quality and for the price against other well known brands I think it was a great buy! Can be worn either for going out smart casual or for the outdoors! Would recommend.

Amazing quality!
The best rain coat i’ve ever purchased.. The quality is great. It is very waterproof and light weight. It is also warm when with a jumper. I would recommend this if you can get this for a good price. (Bought for £31)

Nice jacket but be careful with sizing
I needed a rainproof shell jacket that would look sharp and that would allow me to wear layers like e.g. a fleece. I had recently become a fan of Helly Hansen so I decided on buying this jacket that had had great reviews and that looked really good. I chose the Dark Moss style (it looks amazing in these pictures) and size XL (I'm about 185cm and 97kg with about 114cm chest, body type is on the athletic side but with a +20% body fat). My regular size is usually Large but since I would like to use layers, I thought it would be best to size up. Moreover, the Helly Hansen size chart says that my size is more XL than L. I received the jacket from Amazon and, to my disappointment, it didn't look as good on me as it does on the model. Firstly, I wouldn't say the jacket is baggy on me, but if I wear just a T-shirt or a regular thin shirt under it, it does look like it's oversized (especially from behind). I read about these shell jacket and how they should fit. The consensus seems to be that they should fit on the snug side but that they should also have maneuverability. In this jacket (even with a fleece on) I have perfect maneuverability: it allows me to move my arms in full range of motion without ever feeling tight, and its hem doesn't rise up too much when I raise my hands. I tried on another jacket from a different brand that was sized L, and while it looked exactly like this jacket looks on the model (really sharp), I immediately felt tightness in the chest area when I tried to do some stretching -- and I had only a thin shirt on. I thought long and hard about returning this jacket, but decided on keeping it. It would primarily primarily be used on trekking and doing chores around the cabin in the cold northern weather, so it's more important to have the ability to use layers without sacrificing maneuverability than to look good. I think this is an above-average jacket and that Helly Hansen is an excellent brand. Amazon's price of this jacket is just great. The jacket looks great although the colors aren't as vibrant in real-life as they are in these pictures. About sizing... I do realize that, according to the Helly Hansen size chart, I'm a 'lower-XL' and therefore should expect a bit looser jacket. On the other hand, it seems like you have to be a very specific fit if you want this jacket to look sharp when wearing a thin shirt and when wearing a fleece without sacrificing maneuverability. Therefore, while I do think that the H/H size chart applies here, those who would like to just look cool and not wear thick layers might want to size down -- especially if you are between sizes like me.

Great quality as you’d expect from HH brand but I found the L was more of an XL in this particular item, so perhaps size down. Again, the quality you’d expect but beware if sizing

Exactly as described
Jacket was delivered as promised. The description in the product details was exactly what I was looking for and when it arrived I was not disappointed. Nice and light and keeps you dry which is ideal for going to watch Friday evening rugby matches.

After less than 2 months wear time the zippers on both of these jackets failed. The zipper is weak and will fall apart. Other than that I really like the jackets, Helly Hansen customers service will not cover Amazon purchases since their not a supported retailer. Now I have $200 worth of jackets with busted zippers

Very impressed by this Seven J jacket! I always come back to Helly Hansen every time I look at other brands. They just seem to have one of the best balance of quality & features for the price on so many jackets they sell. This is my 5th HH jacket, and I wanted this one in rotation for spring time and walking mainly. I mainly wear the hooded Crew Jacket 2.0 as my daily driver jacket, which is honestly pretty similar to this except it has a bit better zippers and a bit more insulation around the shoulder/neck areas which adds warmth (and you can stow the hood away), and it also has a front and interior storage with zippers which is very convenient. But, the outer shell material is almost the exact same on both jackets (Helly Tech). Both very flexible, rain resistant and wind proof. The quality is great. The Seven J does have an interior pocket, but no zipper, it's velcro. Still very usable to hold a wallet or your phone, just not quite as nice as the Crew Jacket having the zipper which is a bit more secure, but the Crew 2.0 does cost 2x more than this jacket. In terms of warmth, this one is not as warm as the Crew Jacket 2.0, due to less insulation, and the collar on the Crew 2.0 also has a fleece material which is nice on colder days. It's overall a bit warmer, especially against wind. But, this one is still very good. I think you could quite easily layer it for temps below 0 if needed. Anything less than -10C I would probably opt for a heavier jacket. This one to me is ideal 0-15C or so. Crew Jacket 2.0 I would say is around -5C to 15C. Again, this would be assuming you're wearing a t-shirt or possibly t-shirt + other shirt, depending on your preference or activity level, etc. You could easily wear a sweater underneath for colder temps or days, lots of space in each jacket. Both jackets have YKK zippers, but as mentioned the Crew 2.0 does have the smoother and higher quality YKK which is also anti-corrosive (salt water, etc). But I don't see the YKK zipper on this Seven J a 'downgrade', it works very well so far just like my other HH jackets, and I've never had one fail on me so far, so I trust it. What I appreciate on this jacket a lot is the full mesh material around the whole jacket except for the arms, which are lined. This to me is perfect for staying cooler on rainy days or lower temps in spring, especially when walking. Again it's very flexible and easy to maneuver. I wear a Mens medium, I'm 6'1 and 175-180 pounds and it fits perfect. It's pretty relaxed in the shoulders, and you can still adjust the waist area a bit to be looser or tighter. So to me no need to size up or anything, fits just like my other HH jackets pretty much. I got the 596 Navy color. It looks great. Compared to my 597 Navy jacket, it's a bit more blue and not as dark as the 597. It's very subtle, but different enough to be noticeable. I love both shades of navy, they work well with all my outfits. So all in all, I can't think of a better spring/rain jacket at this price. For $100 CAD, I couldn't find anything better. Highly recommended overall.

Absolute Kaufempfehlung!!
