Your M1 MacBook Air will thank you!
PERFECTION! My current work laptop is an M1 MacBook Air. Our hoteling cubes at the office are outfitted for our standard Dell Latitude laptops, so they have Dell USB-C docks (WD19) and they don't support DisplayLink, thus relegating me to one HDMI monitor (ranging from 21-27", depending on the workstation) and the 13" MacBook screen. So I went hunting for portable alternatives that I could take with my own gear (a Logitech webcam and MacAlly bluetooth keyboard and mouse) that would give me access to dual extended monitors. I've used StarTech before for my home setup and been very happy, but that's a full size dock (USB3DOCKH2DP). I found this one and thought it was worth trying out. It's brilliant. Setup is easy, it recognizes the dual monitors no matter what hoteling station I choose. It's not especially generous on USB A ports, but I have several other USB-C dongles that can accommodate that. But when I've got my own Bluetooth keyboard/mouse and SD card, it's really a non-issue. So glad I found this and at a reasonable price. It fits in my "go bag" with my other personal tech. The build is solid, so it doesn't feel like it's going to come apart. Very happy with this. StarTech for the win!

Loved this product . It resolved the issue of using two external screens with my MacBook Air 2022 with M2 chip. I would definitely recommend.

Nice docking station that allows for 2 external monitors for extended display
I use this docking station on a Macbook Pro M4 and really do like it. I have it primarily to support multiple monitors and currently have two Dell monitors hooked up to the pair of HDMI ports on the station. It does require the use of DisplayLink software to support both external monitors, however it works and gives me a total of 3 extended monitors including the Macbook display. Occasionally 1 of the monitors seems to stop working, but I actually think that it's a problem with the monitor, not the docking station.

It works flawlessly for MacBook Air M2
MacBook Air M2 only supports one external monitor natively. This adapter - after necessary software installation, mind you, this is not plug-n-play à la Windows - enables the same model to have two external monitors (as extended, not mirroring, although the latter is an option) It works flawlessly. Buying this MacBook model and this adapter is still cheaper than buying a MacBook model that natively supports multiple external monitors (as of 7/2024).

Really love this docking station, small enough for my tiny office desk and holds the connection quite well. I haven't had an issue, plug in the hdmi and instantly connected. It's also really modern looking, so fits for the aesthetics in my office.

Short life of 3.5 months
Stopped working after 3 months. Bought in Dec and now dead in March. Nothing got displayed and no way to make it work.

Works as Advertised
Dock operates as advertised - a little expensive but the only way to support dual monitors on an M1 mac I have found - happy to recommend.

After realising my laptops USB C output was data only I then found out I needed a docking station that had DisplayLink technology to work with my laptop. Happy to report this worked straightaway and as advertised no downloading drivers required. I did get confused thinking I needed an external power source to power but also found that wasn't required and got its power to operate directly from the laptop (so i now have a multi-USB charging unit, lol). Soon as I connected it to my laptop, boom, my other two screens came to life instantly. The unit even feels very well made and good quality... would recommend to others 👍

Ce produit fonctionne parfaitement avec ma configuration : Mac Book Air 2024 (M3). Du coup, je peux connecter 2 moniteurs extérieurs et bénéficier du moniteur de mon Mac. Conseil : il faut se rendre sur le site du fabricant pour récupérer le pilote et surtout bien suivre les explications fournies dans le document PDF fourni lors du téléchargement du pilote.

Bytte ut en befintlig USBC adapter från UGreen som bara funkade sämre och sämre. (Den blev väldigt varm också).. till slut pajade den och köpte denna istället. Vilket lyft. Inte så varm. Dubbla uttag för HDMI och 4k stöd. Allt bara funkar. Jag har inte provat att köra musen via den ännu men kör tangentbordet och det funkar kanon. Önska jag köpt denna först.
