Bosch Torque Control Attachment for IXO III (Accessories for IXO Drill Drivers)

Very useful add-on.

Great adaptor. We got an IXO kit a few years ago with the other L-angle and offset heads, but this completes the set. It is really useful to torque-down the drive and prevent the device from stripping soft screw heads or tearing the sockets in plastic toys etc. Well worth the money and I'm surprised they don't include it with the kit as there's enough space in the tin. We used a stanley knife to cut a space for it in the foam so everything still fits in the tin with the other adaptors. Note this does not increase the torque, but decreases it allowing finer control. Basically it has an internal clutch mechanism which disengages at a set torque which you change by rotating the dial around the barrel of the adaptor. You can go from full torque of the ixo right down to very light torque that disengages at quite modest resistance.

It does what it's designed to do and it's easy to put on and remove. The quality is very good as always from Bosch. Down side when in place it covers the lights.

This is a great attachment to the BOSCH IXO cordless screwdriver. I recently purchased the Bosch IXO Cordless Lithium-Ion Screwdriver with Right Angle Adapter and Easy-Reach Adapter and rather frustratingly, you do not get the torque adapter. If you purchase the more expensive Bosch IXO Cordless Screwdriver, you get the torque adapter but no others! Not sure why Bosch do not sell the screwdriver with all three. I guess I do feel slightly cheated by this. Having said that, Bosch is a great brand, and this adapter is no exception. Does exactly as it is supposed to. Makes sure you do not overtighten screws. Easy to fit on to the cordless screwdriver, and easy to take off. I did think it was a tad expensive, but in the long run, a great buy. Highly recommended.

Having recently purchases a Bosch IXO handheld screwdriver I was looking at the available optional extras that co-inside with it. Having recently purchased a new house I wanted to get something for the Wife to use (I have a trusty Makita which is perfection) and since we are fans of Ikea I wanted something that would strip the threads or over tighten the screws and fixings. This is great - it is so simple to attach and you can adjust the amount of torque required for different fixings. I have used it to fix sockets, shelves and ALL of the Ikea furniture & I have just fitted our new kitchen using mainly this to screw the worktops together!!! A great addition to a fantastic tool. The IXO itself I would highly recommend - amazing amount of torque and power that lasts. But now with this added piece, its the perfect hand screw driver.

I purchased this to replace one that somehow got lost and I've been lost without it. Thankfully Amazon's price was a hell of a lot cheaper than any other seller I checked out. For less than twelve pounds this item is a perfect workaround for what is the IXO's only downfall. That downfall being it only operates at one (very fast) speed that makes it difficult when screwing into more delicate wood or other items. Trial and error is needed when setting the actual torque, but another reviewer named Rusty has suggested which settings should do the trick. Together with the Angle Gear Attachment and the Easy Reach Adaptor my IXO 3 is now complete again and I recommend this item.

Does a good job of torque control, but obscures the built in illumination of the screwdriver, which is poor design.

Lovely, nice quality attachment that has lasted longer than the screwdriver itself (which now has a dodgy trigger and a rubbish battery) for those wondering what the torque setting are, I did a fairly large amount of digging and from a Bosch design engineer the torque setting are as follows (these depend on how much pressure you apply through the bit hence they are not published as they can be very different if you press very hard on it): 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 0.30 0.46 0.61 0.77 0.92 1.08 1.23 1.39 1.55 1.70 Nm Internal average measured data. - I love it, it still works after a number of years what else can you ask for?
