Review: Great for getting creative with veg - This is a great book for starting to bake with veg. Each recipe has a short description of the main veg used and what it has to offer the recipe as well as tips on what the flavours go well with. The recipes themselves are pretty much basic ingredients apart from the veg, so they’re not too hard for beginners to start experimenting. I would recommend this if your trying to expand your palate or to entice your kids with healthier/tastier options. Review: a fantastic cookbook to inspire and suprise your friends who say veggies are meant to go in cakes - love this book, fantastic recipes and inspiring. I used this to encourage a fun "mystery vegetable Cake off " competition at work and bought a second copy as the prize. so many veggies ideas that can be hidden in cakes and biscuits, my favourite is the sweet potato and white chocolate cookies, it shouldn't work but it so does. and so do many others

Most delightful book
A beautiful book with easy to use layout. A full page appealing photograph in colour to accompany each recipe. Clearly listed ingredients and clearly laid out instructions. An exciting use of vegetables, especially as I also love to grow them. Really looking forward to trying the huge range recipes, as I can’t see one that doesn’t appeal. Thank you.

Beautiful illustrations
An attractive book with beautiful illustrations but very complicated recipes requiring multiple ingredients. Made the apple and kale cake - a soggy disaster! Will try other recipes and hope they come out better.

Kate's dessert & veg cake cookery book is a good buy.
I follow Kate on Twitter and always love her recipies & want to try them , so I invested in this book. it's got clear and simple recipies, instructions & great photos of the finished product. My young grandson eats no veg except carrots but loves cakes, so I'm going to tempt him with cakes and test some of the recipes out on him. Overall im impressed with this no fuss, but lovely cookery book & would definitely reccomend it.

This is a fantastic cookbook packed with so many great ideas to celebrate ...
This is a fantastic cookbook packed with so many great ideas to celebrate veggies. I love that that this book moves away from the idea of veggies being a bit bland and boring and having to "hide" them with other foods, and instead uses them to create beautiful and vibrant desserts. A delightful addition to any cookbook collection!

I ran across a mention of “Carrot Marmalade” in my WWII reading. I hunted up recipes without shredded citrus, which I can’t have, and really dislike. I have made it twice. Pretty good. I ran across Kate’s recipe on her website and made a sugar-free version of it yesterday. It is now my go-to. Kate’s recipe is 3 ingredients and is from Mrs Beeton no less. I have food restrictions due to allergies and medically restricted foods so I knew going in, that there would probably not be many recipes I could do, unless I could swap ingredients, or leave the offending food out. I downloaded the sample. I was intrigued enough to buy it. The Carrot Jam is in there, in a Victoria Carrot Sponge recipe I definitely want to do. The jam recipe does vary from the website a bit, but it’s pretty close. I don’t know if I can do the Apple & Kale Cake-great reviews, but it’s greener than Kermit. I have tried a rutabaga cake recipe, and that wasn’t bad. So I am hopeful about Kate’s recipes. Her instructions are clear, the pictures are lovely, and as far as I am concerned, the Carrot Jam, and, yes, it does taste like apricots, with or without the cake, may be worth the price of the book.
