PHB5872 UltraFLOW Cabin Air Filter for SUBARU Baja(03-06), Legacy(00-04), Outback(00-03)

The filter replacement is easy to replace. But it would almost seem that the car was built around the glove box which has to be removed to get to the filter chamber. Many screws, bolts and attachments. A phillips head screw driver and a #10 socket or nut driver for tools.

This filter fits my 2001 Subaru Outback wagon fine. The constructive seems to be good, and it is made better than other 3rd party filters I have used in my car.All in all, well worth the $10. I still despise the painful process of changing this filter in my car, but that's on Subaru. I have this filter on Subscribe and Save so it will just show up every six months, which is the recommended change schedule.

Arrived in a timely manner. My Outback didn't even have these installed! Bunch of leaves, dirt, etc in the space where the filters are supposed to go. I installed these as the weather warmed so, hence, I don't use the climate controls anymore. Also, since I didn't have any filters to begin with I can't tell a difference. I hoped that the filters would make the cabin smell like flowers or something but nope!

Perfect fit for my 2001 Subaru Outback. Easy to install. Just as a point though - take a photo of the old ones before you take them out so you know how the new ones go back in. That'll save you a few minutes and some head scratching...or so I am told...

My car (2000 Subaru Outback) didn't come with these installed but had the spots for them, so after getting some A/C work done, I decided to throw them in. They fit perfectly. Judging by the amount of dust and junk that had been sitting in the empty slots when I opened the dash up to install the filters, they should definitely make a difference.

Does the trick. The last set of filters had over 40K worth of grime in them. These were cheap and fit well. A lot cheaper than off the shelf brands and if you're big on low dust and pollen in the cabin, these are good for regular maintenance without being a heavy expense from the dealership.

Easy to replace on my 2003 Subaru Legacy GT 2.5L which did NOT have a filter previously. Few screws to figure out to get access, but the filter itself fits in well and now I dont get as much dust blown around.
