Works Great
The charger works great and was purchased as a replacement for my old one. This unit appears to be more durable than the original Surface charger.

Fine charger
So far, excellent. My Surface is happy with the incoming power. This replaces a prior Amazon seller's item which melted in less than 6 months. I was shocked at how hot the plug became as it self-destructed. At least it had the common sense to ignite as I was watching it. Hate to think the damage it could have done to the computer if it was plugged in while torching itself. One clue it was on track to immolate, was that the Surface tablet would NOT turn on when it was first plugged in to charge. A GOOD charger triggers an "on cycle" when first plugged in (at least on my unit).

Broke my surface laptop studio
Burnt my laptop’s charging port. Tried my older slow charger now it doesnt charge with that.

Works very well
This is the third power source I have purchased for our surface book 2. The first one almost started a fire. The second one eventually almost started a fire. Within the time having in the first two, including the one that came with the laptop, it could never seemingly reach a full charge somehow. There are two batteries, one jn the tablet portion and one in the base. I think something happened to the battery on the tablet as we always had to choose with it dying almost immediately after being disconnected from the base. With this newer higher power adapter, I have been able to keep 100% charge and overall the computer runs much better.

Good for a backup or travel. Use OEM at home though.
It doesn't charge as fast, and the transformer is lighter. That suggest to me that the power it delivers isn't as 'clean' as the OEM charger. The magnet that holds the cord in place is a little weaker too, but it hasn't been a major problem. I have this as a backup for travel, but I don't think I'd want my laptop sitting on this 24/7 when I'm at home.

I WAS WRONG! (Horrible charger) I take it back!
I take everything I said below back. I was not using the charger correctly, so therefore I didn’t know what I was talking about lol. Now I have three of the same charging cords working perfectly fine. I’m so embarrassed. Like read the instructions lady! 😂🤣😂 This is the second charger I have purchased, and each one stopped working soon after the period to return had expired.
