Descendants of the Red Ribbon Army's sinister leaders have renewed their quest for world domination. Review: Bulma wishes to be caked up - Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a thrilling and action-packed movie that revitalizes the Dragon Ball universe while staying true to the franchise’s roots. From the very start, it’s clear that this film is a celebration of everything fans love about Dragon Ball—epic battles, memorable characters, and high stakes—but it also brings something fresh to the table. The animation style is a standout feature. The decision to use a mix of 2D and 3D animation gives the film a unique visual feel that’s both modern and dynamic. The action sequences are beautifully choreographed, and the battle scenes are fast-paced, explosive, and visually stunning, making the movie feel as intense as any of the best Dragon Ball fights. One of the most exciting aspects of Super Hero is the focus on Gohan and Piccolo, two fan-favorite characters who get a much-deserved spotlight. Gohan's growth as a fighter and his journey as a protector of Earth are integral to the plot, and the film provides him with moments that remind fans why he’s one of the most beloved characters in the series. Piccolo, too, shines here, showcasing his enduring strength and cleverness. The story itself is engaging and provides a new threat in the form of the Red Ribbon Army, who’ve created powerful androids to challenge Earth’s defenders. The plot mixes humor with heart and action, maintaining the balance that Dragon Ball is known for. Plus, the return of some classic characters, like Android 18 and Krillin, adds a sense of continuity and nostalgia while pushing the narrative forward. Overall, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is a fantastic addition to the Dragon Ball saga. It strikes a perfect balance between the series’ iconic battles and character-driven moments, while also introducing exciting new dynamics. Whether you're a long-time fan or a newcomer to the franchise, this movie is an absolute must-see. Highly recommended! Amazing!
Minor spoilers in review: This was definitely one of the best additions to the Dragonball franchise. The artistic direction and soundtrack were both incredible. I loved the new animation style, and the shots were much more cinematic in terms of dynamism and shot composition than in a standard anime. I also really liked that the plot was more low-stakes and had a lot of references to the OG Dragonball. The fact that the show focused on Gohan and Piccolo instead of Goku and Vegeta was also great. I like Goku and Vegeta, but honestly they tend to take over Dragonball at times, so I'm glad we got such a quality movie dedicated to our other heroes. Finally, I really loved the new characters. The parts with Pan were hilarious, and Gamma 1 and 2 were really cool and fun imo. Definitely hope to see more of them, and Dr. Hedo, in the future. Overall, this movie was epic. If you like Piccolo and Gohan, definitely buy this movie. You won't be disappointed.

Great DragonBall Movie
I grew up watching Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z so of course this review is going to be a tad biased but I am being upfront with that fact. Some people online seem to be thrown off by the new digital animation during certain scenes but I actually like it. Yes it seems a little video game-ish at times but I think it updates the animation nicely. The story focuses on Gohan and Picalo mainly which is nice because the characters havent really had a story arc update in quite a few years. With this one the characters actually are relevant to the story again and maybe wont be relagated to side charcters. Another thing I immensley enjoyed about this particular film is the villians. They were not over the top evil characters just being evil for no reason and they actualy had depth and a nice amount of humor. I even ended up feeling for them. I think this very competent writing. I gave it 5 stars because I love dragon ball, I dont know if I would reccomend it to new comers though.

Fun Piccolo and Gohan focused movie.
Feel like the Goku Vegeta segment was too long/didnt really fit but overall a good DB super movie. Also was hoping for a longer Gohan full power fight but stopped pretty quickly.

I love this movie!
Let’s start with the best part, my copy showed up a day before estimated delivery 😃 Now for the movie. This is by far my favorite DB movie. The return of the red ribbon army, new androids, Goku and Vegeta are NOT in it. They are, but only for maybe 10min which is crazy. Taking them out of the equation allows Gohan and Piccolo to take the spotlight. Not only that, but you get more of a classic DB feel because nobody is so OP that you already know what is gonna happen. The CGI is odd to say the least. But it is beautifully done and by the time you get use to it the movie is picking up and taking off. Also, the fact it’s CGI’d slows down the fighting from typical flash movements to being able to actually see every martial arts move being preformed. SPOILER ALERT!!!! The transformations. This is probably my least favorite part of the movie. Gohan’s is very odd all the way around and Piccolo’s is just ok with a super original name…..if you don’t sense the sarcasm it’s not! As I said it is by far my favorite DB movie to date. If you’re a fan of the franchise this will definitely be worth a watch. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I have. If you’re not a fan idk why you’re even considering watching it. One last tip. Watch till the end for a very satisfying finish to the sparing match 😉

Loved that the packaging came with a surprise Holo-Tilt Plastic cover. Was really cool. Amazing colour on the 4K UHD TV. Story seemed a little rushed and the animation style trying to be 3D rather than 2D is not my preference but I still loved watching Gohan catch up to his father in regards to power level in the DBZ World. Would recommend.
