Silverline No.2 Shovel 980mm (GT30)

Well made. Sturdy. Looks good. Feels good. It's a perfect shovel.

Just received the shovel and is perfect for the job of moving a lot of soil without the backbreaking stoop you get with a spade. The shovel is well made, a good size and fairly robust for the price. I wanted something fairly lightweight but could hold a lot of soil and this fits the bill. The head is at a good angle that I didn’t need to stoop too much to use.

Does the job very well in a domestic environment, not sure how it would stand up to building site use but perfect for casual home use.

I was not going to buy this shovel based on the reviews I had read here, I am 6' 4" and a short shovel would have been very unsuitable for me. I took the plunge and I'm pleased I did, as some of the reviews seem to be misleading. The facts: the shovel I have, and yes it is the same as the one in the pictures, weighs approx 1.5kgs, ( I am using a hand held luggage scale, hence the approx.), more than the description but massively less than claimed in some of the reviews. Length, from the top of the handle to the bottom edge of the shovel is 109cm, with the shovel being 30cm of the height. The mouth of the shovel is 24.5 at it's widest. I haven't had the chance to use it in the snow, but it seems very robust and up to the job. I don't usually do reviews, but some of the others are wide of the mark, equally the design might have changed recently!

This did a great job at shovelling concrete and dirt in my garden when I was doing a new fence. The quality it excellent for my use and has not broken so it’s well worth the money for me and it’s still in the shed now for next time I need it.

Seems odd writing a review of a shovel but this one has proved to be a decent bit of kit. The sizes online can be deceiving but i am over 6ft and used this to move about 4 large skip loads of soil and it was comfortable and carries a decent amount. Still have loads to do in the garden and this is with me every day on the job.

Now I know the difference between a spade and a shovel.... SO glad I bought this shovel. Currently moving large quantities of compost, soil and a pile of turf. This shovel is light yet robust, a pleasure to use. It has halved the time it previously took to shift large quantities of heavy materials. Doesn't bend or stress with a full scoop of loose turf mixed with stones and earth. Because it's not in itself too heavy you can fully load it, and best of all nothing falls off in the process. Love the length of this shovel too. No back strain. Wish I'd found this years ago.

Ich hab mir diese Schaufel vor einiger Zeit hier bei Amazon gekauft um damit bequemer und vor allem kontrollierter Material aus der Schubkarre aufbringen zu können, also z.B. Blumen- und Pflanzenerde direkt aus dem darin liegenden Sack bzw. in die Wanne gesiebte Erde. Durch den "kurzen" Stil (Gesamtlänge der Schaufel dennoch über 1m) und den D-Griff, kann man auch leicht loses Material gleichmäßig und kontrolliert verteilen, indem man die Schaufel am D-Griff um die Stiel-Achse drehend hin und her schwenkt, sprich dass das Schaufelblatt vorne leicht nach links und rechts "kippt". Dass ich dabei mit knapp 1,75m Körpergröße zudem aufrecht stehen kann und mich beim Herausschaufeln aus der Schubkarre kaum bücken muss, ist ebenfalls recht rückenschonend und es ist halt eine Schaufen mit "speziellerem Einsatzgebiet" für mich, wie ich halt auch noch 4 andere Schaufel- und Spatentypen (u.A. den Spaten von Fiskars mit der spitzen Schneide für Grabarbeiten) habe. Damit werde ich auf Dauer kein Material vom Boden aufnehmen oder z.B. eine Grube ausheben, allerdings eben für das Arbeiten aus entsprechenden Mulden und Wannen von Schubkarren und Anhängern ist es eine der für mich besten Anschaffungen gewesen die es gibt. Zumal die gesamte Länge über 1 Meter ist, kann man damit auch einen entsprechenden Hebel nutzen und die Last der doch ausreichend großen Fläche ist weit einfacher zu tragen als man meinen mag. Dies macht z.B. dann Sinn, wenn man schwere feuchte Erde oder erdfeuchten Beton ein Stück tragen muss, Stiel kurz genug um auch in engen Bereichen beweglich zu bleiben, aber lang genug für einen guten Hebel. Aus meiner Sicht (und vor allem für meinen Einsatzzweck) eine 5-Stern-Bewertung die sie echt verdient hat.

Devo dire che la foto mi ha tratto un po in inganno, infatti credevo che la pala fosse molto più grande. piu che per spalare la neve volevo utilizzarla per raccogliere le foglie secche che in questo periodo cominciano a cadere, ma il manico un pò troppo corto risulta scomodo, tuttavia la pala risulta di buona fattura, solida e robusta. se fosse stata 20 cm piu lunga e la pala 10 cm piu larga avrebbe meritato 5 stelline, tuttavia il buon rapporto qualità prezzo giustificano l'acquisto

c'est la même pelle que vous trouverez trois fois plus chère en grande surface. Impression de solidité confirmée à l'usage. C'est courant avec les pelles de ce genre mais sachez que le manche n'est pas très grand, il faut donc logiquement se baisser un peu pour pelleter. Bon achat.

Ich habe mir die Randschaufel gekauft, da ich kurzfristig eine Grundausstattung an Gartenwerkzeug benötigte und das Budget schonen wollte. Letztendlich bin ich doch positiv überrascht von der Schaufel. Nach zwei Tagen intensiver Arbeit mit der Schaufel (div. Beete ausgehoben auch welche die klitschnass waren) hält sie noch einwandfrei. Und wenn sie doch mal kaputt geht, hält sich der finanzielle Verlust in Grenzen. Dann wird es natürlich etwas hochwertigeres, aber für den Anfang ist die oben gezeigte schon echt prima.
