Another good tool, worth having.
A well-made and useful tool the simplicity of which belies its benefits on the bench.

Saddle square
New to me square for wood working etc., strongly made in aluminium, and packed securely. have found this to be really useful, but the markings on the square and on the instruction card are all in japanese. This does not alter the ability to be used, but English would have been welcome

Love this, bit it very much needs to stay on the workbench.
It's aluminium so having moved it about and dropped it a few times about half of the corners are now dinged up after a year and a half. The markings are quite thick and the indentation of each marking is slight. Really wish they'd marked all sides and to each edge. Like several shinwa products I also wish they made a tempered steel version, I'VE LOOKED. Ultimately though it's an insanely useful marking tool just for the 90 on two sides. If you need a box square there's not a lot else that can do the job in anywhere near the same amount of time. So I will probably end up buying a new one when the old ones no longer useful. Though if you're in need of a smaller version veritas makes a saddle square.
