I bought these because of the brand name, the price (£19.99), free delivery, and the many comments about ‘extra long handles’. The shears are certainly nicely made, and the blades are satisfyingly sharp and cut cleanly. They’re also relatively light in weight. Unfortunately, the handles are a full 6-7cm shorter than my Swedish F...... shears. The handles on my F…… shears are 99cm, but these Wilkinson shears are only 92-93cm. That’s a BIG difference if you’re tall, especially if you’ve got a lot of edging to do. In addition, the F...... blades are a full 3cm longer than the Wilkinson blades. That's 15%. It may not sound like much, but it matters if you have long, straight borders. First of all, the job will involve 15% more snips, 15% more footsteps, and take 15% longer. Secondly, as anyone who has tried maintaining long, straight edges knows, long blades are much better at maintaining a straight line. Short blades wander off course too easily and leave wobbly edges. In summary – these are light, well-made shears that cut cleanly; they're well-suited to women, or anyone else of modest stature, and for those having a garden with small beds and/or short borders. I’m afraid I’d find it difficult to recommend these to anyone much over 6ft tall, or with more than, say, 200 yards of borders to maintain.

Item as described and lightweight. Pleased with the quality even though not had the weather to use them yet just cut a little test patch of grass with them. Having seen the first one bought for my sister I bought another one for myself. The cutting angle on these shears is better than my old ones as these Wilkinson Sword Lawn Shears are more upright and don't create such a strain on the arms. The only thing I would wish was a little better about these lawn shears is that the blades would overlap more at the tip because they just about meet each other. Happy with my purchases and would recommend.

I needed some edging shears and those I have had in the past have always fallen short. Normally the bolt holding the two halves together comes loose which gets frustrating. These seem really good. Been around a large lawn twice with them and , fingers crossed, they are still cutting really well. Very sharp, a bit heavy but seem very well made. Could have done with something to hang them up with though but a minor point.

These are the best edging shears I’ve ever bought. They have super sharp blades so very easy to use. Lawn looks great with a neat border.

These are great quality fo the price . Only problem I had was a plasti grip on handle was loose but a bit of super glue fixed it. I would say they are perfect for anyone under my height of 5' 11 " but any taller they may be a little short on length requiring the need to bend. Maybe a bit heavy for big lawns but they cut very well. Mine is the flat blade one not edger, make sure you click the correct box when ordering.

I needed something to maintain a clean edge between a rock garden and lawn. The turf is a mix of Bermuda and zoysia grasses. These cut a crisp clean edge and it looks great. I do recommend this product.
