It does what it says
This Bible is billed as a complete translation of the entire Bible, but with children in mind - unlike so many children's Bibles which either leave bits out, or retell stories in their own words, or both! So if your child has read all the latter bibles and you want them to have a chance to read the actual "Holy Bible" then this is a very good product. It translates in short clear sentences in modern English and always indicates clearly who is speaking. It also has some full-page child-friendly illustrations in colour. It does not compromise the text, however. It is technically a "dynamic equivalent" translation - like the NIV or the Good News, and unlike The Message or the older Living Bible whhich are technically "paraphrases". So if you are looking for your child to encounter the Word of God in the same sense that you do in your quiet time, or in church, this is the Bible for you. It is an excellent stepping stone to either the NIV or the GN. My daughter (13) has made that step and reads the Good News mainly. My son (9), wanting a 'real Bible' to take away to camp, was delighted when we bought him his own copy of this publication. The only drawback is the shortening of sentences which can sometimes breakup the feel or flow of a text (e.g. in some famous Pauline or Johannine passages). When your child becomes aware of this, however, it is simply evidence that it is time to make the very smooth transition to one of the many translations you yourself use. Excellent condition, unbeatable price
I bought used bibles for children at my church as I'm a Sunday school teacher. I was shocked to see they're practically brand new. Beautiful bargain for the price I paid

Lovely
We haven't read it yet however, skimmed through and is presented similarly to an adult bible. The pages are thin so much care will be essential for long-term sustainability.

Great Bible for kids.
The Bible for children in easy to understand language but without losing the meaning. This is great.

A really well produced bible for children
I purchased this particular children's Bible as I was asked to read one of the Psalms in it at a friend's funeral. Janet had taught at Sunday School for many many years and her faith and love of the Lord Jesus Christ shone out of her. She was liked by all the children she came into contact with and taught the love of Jesus and his forgiveness with warmth and sincerity. It was a privilege to say she was my friend.
