Great for tight spaces or pushing back your appliance. As for me, I've used it for my water dispenser so I can get it as close as possible to the wall. Item seems built pretty well, but I wouldn't use it with something that pulls a lot of power like a microwave.

The water kettle has an extra heavy duty cord that sticks straight out of the wall socket, taking up valuable counter space. And this adapter does exactly what it's designed for; It directs that heavy duty cord 90 degrees towards the counter, freeing up counter space.This adapter is very heavy duty, meant for computer enclosures & racks, and that was what I needed. As expected, the water kettle draws a lot of current so no other current-sucking counter appliances like a microwave or coffee maker can be run off the kitchen electric circuit at the same time without tripping a breaker. But this adapter never even gets warm. Perfect!

I love this idea for the adapter! It's a great product but boy, the IEC 13 socket on mine was really tight. I compared it to normal IEC 13 cords I have and it was way too snug. I just about sent it back but I needed this adapter for the setup on my device. Usually, a really tight plug is just what you're looking for but in my case I was using this on a device that would require me to unplug the IEC 13 connector everytime I put away the device and I needed a less tight fit. I ended up inserting a small screwdriver and twisted it in each socket hole to spread the contacts a bit and make the plug looser. After some effort - with a fine touch not do over do it - I managed to spread the socket contacts just enough to get the fit I needed. It's a great adapter and will work perfect for my application.

I have plug molds (i.e. really long permanently installed power strips) throughout the house. Some of them are in confined spaces, so it would often help to turn the outlets on their sides.This would seem to be an easy problem to solve. After all, there are tons of 3rd party power cubes that have outlets on the sides. But it turns out, all of them are to the left/right, whereas I need front/back. This product is the *only* one that I found that has the correct orientation for me.I was initially put off by the price, as the product looked cheaply made in the product pictures. But when I received it, I was positively impressed. This is a very well-made and sturdy product. The price is still high, but I don't feel bad about my purchase. In fact, I bought several.And turns out, it works 100% perfectly for my application. I am extremely pleased to have found this very special-purpose little adapter.

This fit the available space and is working as expected. I was not able to find a similar product at the big box store so as usual I found what I needed at Amazon.

If you think six bucks is too much to pay for a right angle adapter, think again. This is a very well made high quality commercial grade product. The first impression is that when you get it it’s not just tossed into a plastic bag but in a protective blister pack. It describes it as being appropriate for server racks and equipment enclosures so you know their intended application is for high end installations. The adapter itself weighs an impressive almost two ounces. A close look inside reveals full electric contacts not the simplistic designs common with most consumer power accessories these days.WHAT IT ISReading some of the other comments it appears the intended application of this product may not be entirely clear. It is not a multitap, its sole job is to change the orientation of a grounded plug by 90 degrees, but it is not designated to be a wall hugger, in other words if you want to use it to reduce how far a cord extends out from the outlet because maybe you want to push furniture closer to the wall this really won’t help you. It sticks out 1.75 inches by itself and there is a reason for that, if it were much smaller it could not be used with some heavy duty commercial grounded plugs, defeating why some users would want or need it. Just simplify your thinking and tell yourself to understand what it does – it converts the orientation of a plug to a fixed right angle, that’s all.EVALUATIONI tested this with a meter and measured no perceptible power loss. I wiggled both the adapter and a power plug looking for shorts or interruptions in voltage and there was none. That’s why it’s worth six bucks.For what it is intended to do this is the highest quality adapter of its type I have found.

This right-angle plug did exactly what I needed it to do: redirect a power cord downwards (see photo). It is surprisingly difficult to find something exactly like this in hardware stores. The plug works well, and cord connections on both sides are a good, snug fit.Two points:First, note that you can only plug ONE cable into this -- it's not obvious in the product photo, but there is only one place to plug something in.Second, make sure you take into account the direction this adapter will send your power cord based on the orientation of the outlet where you plan to use it. Many three-prong outlets have the grounding prong below the two upper prongs -- in that case, you will be plugging your power cable into this from BELOW (as in my photo).Very happy with this purchase.
