Excellent Zigbee coordinator for Home Assistant, but not fully plug-and-play
I bought this Zigbee Controller specifically for use with Home Assistant, and it has been a great upgrade over a USB Zigbee stick. The biggest advantage is that it runs over Ethernet, which lets you place the coordinator where Zigbee coverage is best instead of being tied to the location of your Home Assistant server. For anyone running HA on a NAS, VM, or remote machine, this makes a big difference in reliability. In my case, my Home Assistant setup runs on a VM from my detached garage office while this controller is in the main home. Once set up, performance has been excellent. Pairing devices is fast, the connection has been stable, and range seems better than my previous USB coordinator. The web interface is also very helpful for firmware updates and configuration. The main thing buyers should know is that this isn’t completely plug-and-play with Home Assistant. Setup requires some familiarity with ZHA or Zigbee2MQTT (my preferred implementation) and the documentation could do a better job explaining common setups. It’s not difficult if you’re comfortable with HA, but beginners may need to spend some time figuring things out. Overall, this is a fantastic coordinator for Home Assistant users who want flexibility, strong performance, and the ability to place their Zigbee radio in the optimal location.

So much easier than my previous USB setup
Sometimes a product comes along that makes life much easier. This is one of them. I run Home Assistant via a virtual machine running on a Synology NAS. A Sonoff USB dongle connected to the NAS was my Zigbee coordinator. Once I had the Sonoff up and running, I was able to forget about it, because it just worked. The problems started whenever I had to unplug it from the NAS. Inevitably, the USB connection was forgotten by the Synology software and I had to remember how to turn it back on again, or the USB drivers failed. When the drivers failed I was forced to SSH into the NAS and use command line entries to download, and hopefully install, the correct USB drivers. Because this only happened every couple of years, it was always a challenge to remember how to fix the issue. I have the SMLIGHT connected directly into one of my network switches, and it's powered via POE. There are no drivers to worry about and it has a very nice web interface that allows complete control of the device. In my opinion, one of the best features of the SMLIGHT is its ability to spoof the MAC address of the Sonoff dongle. Once the MAC address of the Sonoff was entered into the web interface of the SMLIGHT and it was rebooted, all of my devices just assumed that the SMLIGHT was the Sonoff, so I didn't have to repair any of them. Easy-peasy. The Sonoff was/is a nice piece of tech., but the SMLIGHT takes things to another level.

Great Zigbee antenna for Home Assistant
This is a great antenna for my Home Assistant system. I love that I could use POE and ethernet to connect it to my system and I haven't had any lag or issues with controlling the many Zigbee dimmers in my system.

Easy setup, good compatibility with all Zigbee devices
Easy to adopt and set up in Home Assistant with Z2M. Worked great with no lag- lights turn on instantly. Seems well build and the price was comparable with other hubs I looked at. Third Reality Smart Plugs, Lutron wall switch, Google Home and a bunch of other devices easily connected since it's compatible with any zigbee device. This was a good purchase for me.

ZigBee is Great, UI is Nearly There
Software is a little "quirky", but the ZigBee functionality is great and integrates well in Home Assistant! I seem to always have issues on the Security page, where things like input fields are requiring values when the feature is disabled, enabling certain features appear to remain disabled when they're not, and setting web UI password breaks minor integration on Home Assistant. Seems significant, but it's not that bad, and the core ZigBee functionality runs perfectly, so it's still well worth it.

Don't waste your time with usb version.
Home assistant plug and play. I recently moved and my computer system wasn't going to be able to be center house. Plug in, HA recognized it and we were off to the races setting it up.

Not Reliable
It loses contact with devices that worked reliably with another coordinator. Migration did not work in Home Assistant. Devices must be very close for discovery. It seems to be vulnerable to out-of-band interference. After being powered down for an hour, it permanently lost contact with all Zigbee devices.

Zigbee is great
Paired with my home assistant setup. Tried both USB power and POE. Overall POE is less hassle.
