Nice inspection mirror for DIY
I misplaced the small cosmetics mirror that I have had for years to look into awkward places for DIY and came to look for a replacement. When I saw this little device with a handle and lights I was immediately impressed, the lights are definitely handy for looking behind plumbing and into hard to reach places, and the telescoping rod seems like a nice feature. One unsung advantage of the handle is that this is obviously a tool and is maybe less likely to end up in a bathroom drawer / medicine cabinet / at the back of a bookshelf / under a pile of papers if it is tidied away! Inspecting the product on arrival, all of the fittings are tight and it seems to be manufactured to an acceptable quality. The sections of the telescoping rod fit together reasonably tightly and the rod is strong enough to hold the mirror device. The two joints at the end of the rod used to orient the mirror seem reasonably robust at this point and allow the mirror to sit stably in whatever position is desired. The mirror itself is good, seems to be acrylic and reflects well with a good quality image. I would say that the case for the electronics is maybe a bit bigger than it has to be and all things considered I would prefer a slightly larger mirror and less case. Perhaps extra plastic will protect the mirror from small knocks. The entire mirror component is reasonably light, but the fact that it's slightly overbuilt will probably affect its long term life. It looks to me that the entire assembly relies on friction to keep the mirror from slipping, so I expect that as play develops in the parts over time the mirror will start rotating under its own weight and the device will become useless as per the negative reviews. It seems like a couple of small design improvements could have alleviated that, such as a ridge along the telescoping rod and a tightning screw on the pivot on the mirror. I suppose the mirror can be detached and will still be useful when this does eventually happen. For 6 quid this is a nice and usable device, it's nice to be able to see all those fasteners that previously I was only able to access by feel!

Works well
I bought this so that I could check a mouse trap placed inside a loft space. Previously this involved standing on a chair and using a mirror and a torch. With this tool I can easily check from floor level and as the loft space is dark, I find the lights are very useful. But as pointed out in other reviews, it is easy to switch the lights off. I suspect it will need to be treated with a little care as the stem is hollow and the light is attached to a small rotating joint. So not for children!

I would recommend this product
For the money this is exactly what I needed. I cannot believe that some people have criticised this product because the LED's cause glare. Why don't you TURN THEM OFF if it is a problem, the switch is on the back of the mirror. Or you could tape up one LED or tape up both with misty tape, either way you have options or you could pay twice as much for a mirror with no LED's and no options. I would recommend this product.

Looks good
I bought it as a tree present for my son in law looks really good, I will treat myself to one after Christmas. I often used a mirror as a fitter for looking inside appliances or under floors for pipe and cables, the problem was always trying to shine a torch at the same time on the spot you are looking at this seems to solve that very well.

Rolson XTools telescopic inspection mirror
Rolson XTools telescopic inspection mirror, the smaller telescopic sections are not tight enough if you turn the mirror so the weight of the mirror section is at 3 or 9 o'clock the weight swivels the mirror down to 6 o'clock. I put some elastic bands round the smaller sections to stop this rotation sticky tape would also work, the thicker telescopic sections give me enough length for what I need.

Cheap but does the job well.
I didn't have high hopes, because this is small and cheap, but it does everything it claims to do. And it is strong enough for most uses. Very happy.
