This magnifier is not the cheapest but has the best visibility among many magnifiers I bought from amazon.com with superb clearity. This is almost like a glass quality PVC magnifier. Good dimensions to read a book or view your mobile phone. Your can rotate the magnifier plate easily which is great. Has a LED light, not very practical with the devices as it reflects and makes reading difficult. Very strong and solid body easy to move it with one hand and adjust. You might need to adjust it more then its position and with a box or a book underneath to set the focus right according to your own reading comfort. Overall it is a great magnifier and is a part of my daily life. I am planning to buy aonther for my other room as well.

Yes, the LED lights produced an annoying ring on the lens. The Cure - Add a glare visor 10" long x 3" wide duct tape flap!!! Fold the duct tape leaving 1/2" stick to attach to the bottom of the lamp area. Walla! No glare!!! I suggest the manufacturer incorporate this into the design. MY FEE? $50.00 bucks for the cost of the lamp. 'NO WORRIES, MATE!'

I purchased this for my sister, now in her mid 80s, who has loss of vision clarity that has come with age. She'd given up her subscription to a favorite magazine, but now with this unit is able to once again read printed material and I'll be renewing her prescription for her favorite magazine. She commented that she appreciates that with the built in light beneath the lens there's no glare/reflection from the surface. Time will tell how sturdy the magnifying aid turns out to be.
