Billions - Season 1 [DVD] [2016]

I throughly enjoyed this series.

There are some actors who seem to be able to reach out of the screen and grab you by the collar. For me Damien Lewis is one of these people and he does it again in this series. Its well written has plenty of twists and holds your attention throughout. Its very good and well worth watching.

This is such a great series. Damien Lewis and Paul Giamatti are both superb. This is the last truly great box set that I have watched. Speedy delivery, arrived exactly as described. Overall I could not be happier with this purchase. Definitely 5 stars from me :-)

Anything written by Aaron Sorkin is well worth watching and this series is excellent. The characterization is very good, its well directed and your never really sure where its going to go. I thought it was brilliant!

I am a big Damien Lewis fan and really enjoyed this Series (he is a UK Gem). It made me laugh at the twist and turns. Can't wait to see Series 2. For me a damn good buy........

I haven't been able to give this 5 stars because of the amazing over - use of the F**** word: we counted 26 in one episode. The word is used so often, not as an expletive- which can be understood - but as a normal word in a normal sentence. I thought perhaps we would become immune to it, but no such luck. It was a relief when, every now and again, there was a long stream of dialogue where the F*** word didn't appear at all, and I felt my shoulders relax! This is such a shame because the story is fascinating - one minute you are totally behind one character, and the next minute you have switched your allegiance to another. The acting is superb, but anything with Damien Lewis in tends to be exceptionally good, and Paul Giamatti is a splendid tortured soul. The directing is crisp and it adds to the story when Paul Giamitti is pictured in dark, gloomy surroundings, compared to Damien Lewis' character who appears much of the time in a light, airy backdrop. The story will probably make us look forward to the next series, but if the language remains as in this series that anticipation will be somewhat compromised.

Recommended to me by a friend and I am not disappointed. Thoroughly enjoying season one, so much so that I have ordered season two and three.

Es geht um Geld, Macht und Macht und Geld und... Billions hat mich nicht direkt von der ersten Sekunde an gepackt, aber mich hat trotzdem interessiert wie es weitergeht. Dranbleiben lohnt sich, denn die Serie ist packend und hat einige Überraschungsmomente. Ich persönlich mag die Figur Chuck Rhoades nicht. Das kann auch an der Synchronstimme liegen, die meiner Meinung nach nicht passt. Oder es liegt an dem ständigen Kopfgewackel des Schauspielers. Was auch immer. Aber Bobby Axelrod ist eine coole Socke. Er ist wagemutig und autoritär. Seine Mitarbeiter hat er im Griff. Sein engster Mitarbeiter Mike Wagner ist stets an seiner Seite und würde alles für ihn tun. Trotzdem finde ich seine Figur interessant. Außerdem sticht für mich Wendy Rhoades hervor. Sie hat die Männer fest im Griff. Wie sehr, das wird erst im Verlauf der Staffel klar. Eine starke Figur, die meine volle Sympatie hat. Ich schaue mir alle Staffeln an. Eine spannende Serie, deren Charaktere interessant sind.
