Wooden Embroidery Hoop - 12"

Works well but the nut and bolt locking mechanism could have been made a little more user friendly.

I purchased this for university when doing my textiles degree and it was an absolute life saver. All you do is take the two parts of the hoop apart which is very easy. You have a tightener on the side. You then place the one side on a flat surface, lay your fabric on top, then place the other part of the hoop on top. Pushing down with a little force so it fits tightly inside the bottom hoop. This will then give you a very straight and taught piece of fabric to work on when either sewing into or painting onto. Anything you want to do to your fabric. I also used this hoop for water soluble fabric which I was a bit weary about at first as the soluble fabric is very thin and I thought it might break when pressing down the inner hoop but it never.I would recommend this product to many people who do a lot of machine embroidery or free hand sewing on various fabrics.

The hoop is really sturdy with a good firm screw clip. It was two days late in shopping and came with no protection other than the bag it came in. I look forward to using the hoop.

Dispatched quickly and packaged well. Not the best embroidery hoop ever but it's cheap and it works. Tightening can be a bit of a struggle but thats maybe just because of the types of fabrics i used. If it's something you'll be using often maybe invest in a better quality one, but if it's something you don't use very often then this one is fine.

Good standard size. I have many of these in various sizes because I frequently have two or three projects on the go so it saves taking work on and off. Design hasn't changed for years and neither has quality.

The biggest let down is the shape, as it's oval and not round due to bring misshaped. Due to this, when you assemble it over the fabric it is always fiddly and the tension varies. Also, the screw is difficult to turn, so not great to open and close.

This hyoopmwas, unfortunately too large for the project it was intended for but was well made and I am sure will rove to be useful one day.

I was very happy with this item. In my local shops these embroidery hoops can be quite expensive so I was pleased to find this cheaper alternative that is still great quality.
