Mini-Box picoPSU-160-XT 24-pin Mini-ITX Power Supply

This is a premium product and significantly superior the alternatives. In particular compared to the current (more expensive) Streacom branded product the PCB is thicker, the wires are thicker, there are 4 wires all the way to the P4 port instead of 2, the chokes are bigger and it manages to regulate voltages within 1% of specification whereas instead of 5% for Streacom. In my case the PC wouldn't start from warm with the Streacom regulator, but works perfectly with this.

I had an idea to build a htpc from the spare parts I had laying around to stick under the TV. This is the perfect psu for the job, small, have all the cables I need and just the right power level.

A very expensive version of a common product but was needed for a specific computer repair. These blow up after about 12 months. This is about my 3rd or 4th one!

The key reason for choosing this item is, and was in my case, size. Unfortunately the measurements given in the listing bear no relation to any I could see. I used it for a mini ITX board where I only had 35mm clearance above the board. When inserted, this protrudes around 40mm (approximate manual measurement from the top of the motherboard so don’t rely on this for your plans!). So no good for me. Other points were, you can see you need to buy additional power connections if you have several disks. I also wish they would state what certifications and /or approvals they have. Branded PC PSUs do. Finally, the pico-PSU did actually power up my motherboard and SSD, so it did work, but I didn’t put it under the full load of 5 HDs. Unfortunately as I am returning it for a cheaper board style PSU, I can’t comment on its reliability.

I bought this to complement a mini-ITX system I built. It's small, low-profile and has the barebones requirement that I needed - power for the motherboard and 1 SSD. I got the 160W version as it was an emergency and the only model to have next-day shipping, 160W is more than double of what I need to power my Asrock Q1900-ITX motherboard and my 120GB SSD, so bear in mind that this is a high-power version that will only be needed for very specific use-cases. I cannot comment on longevity as I've only had it less than a week but I've used variances on Pico-PSUs and they are fantastic pieces of tech. My only gripe was the packaging. Although it was well sealed in an Amazon cardboard box with some anti-static bubble wrap, I was disappointed to find that there's no official retail box for it, making storage a bit of a pain.

Amazon much cheaper for this item than anywhere else. It works very well in concert with my brand new Gigabyte GA-J1800N-D2H Motherboard and SSD for a completely fanless, noiseless mini ITX solution. Mine are currently working as an XBMC/Kodi system.

I've had one similar before and it works fine. This second one was inappropriately packed by Amazon arriving with 2 capacitors ripped off - needs to be packaged in a box with padding not an envelope!

This is a great little power supply, I'm using it with a LEICKE ULL ITX Pico PSU Power Supply 120W to run an audio server. No fans = no noise = happy listener. Powering an I3 2160 (downclocked to 1.6ghz), Gigabyte H61, so this has more than enough for what I need. Seems very well constructed, so far so good.

Una pico PSU que funciona adecuadamente. No me ha dado ningún problema. No obstante, con 160W, es importante elegir bien el transformador (sobre todo en calidad, no solo potencia). Puedo mantener horas y horas un equipo ITX con un transformador de 60W de buena calidad, y en cambio, uno de 120W que compré en amazon duró horas.

Poprzednik padł wczoraj, po siedmiu latach raczej ciężkiej pracy (Ryzen 5 2400G). Na tak mały moduł, bardzo dobry wynik. Nie piszczy, nie sprawia problemów. Tylko kable mogłyby być trochę dłuższe, wystarczają "na styk" w obudowie Streacom FC10. Mała niespodzianka: ten picoPSU jest "made in USA".

Je m'en suis servi pour alimenter un NAS fait maison, et elle fonctionne parfaitement. Le gain de place est son principal atout avec une tension plutôt élevée qui supporte une carte mère, les 3 disques durs et les 2 SSD. J'ai même pu ajouter une carte graphique légère pour faire l'installation. Je l'ai enlevée depuis mais le NAS démarrait sans problème. Un bon produit.

Volevo creare un PC da TV per la stanza da letto da usare come una mini console, player di video 4k e navigazione. Ho comprato un case dalle dimensioni di 20x20x60cm dove entra a filo una scheda madre MINI-ITX ed un dissipatore low Profile senza alimentazione. L'unico sistema per alimentare il PC è questo dispositivo da comprare insieme all'alimentatore 12V 13A simile a quello dei notebook. Si collega direttamente al 24 PIN della scheda madre ed il 4 PIN alla CPU. Se la vostra scheda madre è dotata di 8 PIN per la CPU non importa che ne collegate solo 4 di PIN perchè è più che sufficiente per le fasi di alimentazione a patto di usare CPU di bassa potenza tipo 65W Inoltre è presente un cavetto per collegare un SATA ed un MOLEX per connettere per esempio un HD ed un Blu-RAY. Nel mio caso avendo un SSD m2 su scheda madre non è stato necessario e l'ho rimosso dal connettore (non sarebbe comunque entrato nel case) Il sistema che ho configurato con questo PICO-PSU è il seguente: Case Lancei Mini Case per Computer Profilo L65 PICO PSU 160W Mini-Box + Alimentatore LEICKE 150W 12V 12.5A MSI B450i Gaming AC AMD Ryzen 5 3400g con Vega 11 4.2Ghz (4core 8 Thread) Dissipatore NOCTUA NH-L9a LP (Va benissimo anche quello Stock AMD a patto che il case rimanga aperto o sia piu alto di 75mm) 16GB Ram DDR4 (2x8) 3200Mhz CL14 Gskill (B-Die) SSD 256 M2 Sata (accetta anche NVME PCI-Express) Windows 10 Pro Il PC è stato configurato con le DDR settate a 3200Mhz Cl14 tramite A-XMP e in game Mode (OC) con GPU a 1400Mhz e CPU a 4150Mhz. A 4200 non va credo a causa delle fasi di alimentazioni insufficienti ma per 50Mhz non è neanche da porsi il problema. Il sitema è stabile e velocissimo come non mi sarei mai aspettato. In FULL HD (1920x1080) è possibile giocare con alcuni titoli anche a 60fps (tipo FORTNITE o CS:GO) ed altri Tripla A a 30fps in dettagli medio-bassi come SEKIRO, AC Odissey o STAR WARS Fallen Orders. Ho giocato per 2-3 ore senza mai incontrare Freeze o riavii di sistema ed il PC non ha mai superato i 130W da Amperometro attaccato alla presa di corrente. IL PICO-PSU a fine sessione è risultato caldo ma senza scottare perciò direi che è fatto bene, molto bene, tuttavia ho notato che il voltaggio che eroga è 12V spaccato, perciò credo sia semplicemente in Passthrough dall'alimentatore a monte, lui credo si occupi solo di pensare al 3,3V ed al 5V a questo punto. Non sono riuscito ulteriormente a incrementare le prestazioni di sistema perchè anche aumentando di poco la frequenza delle RAM o della CPU il sistema andava in blocco o in riavvio. Anche montando delle DDR4 da 3600Mhz B-Die CL15 non sono riuscito nemmeno a fare il boot, presumo per problemi di alimentazione o della CPU stessa che comunque ricordo che lavora con le RAM al massimo a 2933Mhz perciò anche a 3200 sta in OC. Sicuramente il PICO-PSU con questa CPU sta al limite delle potenzialità e non è possibile poter alimentare nient'altro considerando che i 130W misurati sono molto vicini al limite dei 160W, anche montando un HD da 3.5 ci si avvincinerebbe troppo alla soglia perciò lo sconsiglio. Inoltre le temperature viaggiano intorno ai 70C in pieno gaming perciò un HD dentro quel fornetto morirebbe facile. Resto comunque sbalordito di ciò che questo oggettino riesca a fare ed a quale miniaturizzazione siamo arrivati ad avere nel tempo oltre al fatto che è ora possibile giocare in qualità Full-HD anche con un sistema così compatto. Certo alla fine ci vogliono quasi 500€ (senza le RAM B-die ma vanno benissimo dell 3200-Cl16 comuni) ma per chi vuole costruirsi un mici-PC dalle enormi capacità con cui poter anche giocare va benissimo direi.
