Excellent Fridge for Camping
Very good camping fridge. I like the cooling aggregate which is variable speed. When needing less cooling (close to target temperature) it draws less power. It is not loud or unpleasant, just a whirling hum. We had it inside the tent. The temperature sensor is on the bottom of the fridge (while cooling loops are on the side). I measured a 3.2F higher temp inside of the fridge over the set point (averaged over many hours). But that does not seem to matter, it works well in real world. Put the food/drinks back in after meal (and they have warmed up) and temperature displayed jumps up, and fridge cools down. Exactly as it should be. I always use the MAX mode to use the cooling capabilities. The ECO mode marginally reduces power consumption. Under ideal conditions (never open the fridge), @ 74F ambient (indoors no direct sunlight) with a -8F target temp it consumes 23.1Wh per hour in MAX and 20.5Wh in ECO. ECO has a higher duty cycle (on for 60% of the time vs. 50% in MAX), and the cooling aggregate apparently is more efficient at lower speeds. Improving insulation (i.e. putting a blanket over the fridge except for the vents) had a bigger effect only needing 19.5Wh per hour. Power consumption is much higher in the real world (open/close, putting food/drinks back in that are no longer as cold). I did not measure (busy camping), but I would guess 250Wh in a 24h period using it as a fridge (34F set point -- which is a bit too cold). In real-world, very good fridge! We enjoy having a real fridge and not needing to mess with ice. Friends are surprised about nice and cold beverages right on the campground. You could even have your own ice cream (using it as a freezer). Albeit, it still gets wet inside the fridge due to condensation -- we don't dry things off when putting it back. In hot and humid weather, lots of condensate forms when you take something nice and cool out of the fridge.

Greatest invention on the face of the earth
If I could give this 10 stars I would. Who would have thought that a 12 volt refrigerator freezer could be this great and efficient. The inverter compressor is very quiet constantly adjusting is speed to efficiently use power. The most this device pulls is 2.5amps or 37 watts. It can easily flash freeze by dropping the temperature down to -8 F. I never have to waste my money on ice again. The fact that you don’t need ice means that you don’t need as large of a cooler. I fit more in this than my 55 gallon Coleman because I don’t need ice. I take it everywhere. If you plug it in and pre-cool it to zero and then take it on the road with the battery it will keep stuff at 30 degrees about 10 hours on a charge. Get the insulated cover it makes a huge difference in battery life. Without the cover it’s about 50% less efficient on battery power. I bought 2 batteries so I can keep Italian ices in it at -4 degrees all day. It’s always great to bring a meat freezer with you when you buy ice cream in the summer. You can get it home without it melting. It isn’t too heavy even with food in it. It’s easy to transport because its size is very manageable. I love the fact that it keeps your settings when you swap batteries. The interior has a wonderful lighting system that works just like a regular refrigerator. If they can make just one improvement it would be to have the battery just slide in. The cigarette lighter plug really holds tight into the battery making it difficult to pull out to remove battery. Other than that one tiny gripe this is truly the best gadget ever invented. I most definitely will buy a bigger one next year for use in my yard for party’s because it keeps stuff real cold even opening and closing a lot. It comes with a real nice set of accessories like a car power cord and a shorter cord for the battery.

Works Great!!!
The refrigerator is awesome!!! We have 2 of The BougeRv and they are well worth the money! We use ours in our vehicles for the most part. This summer I put mine on the pool deck for drinks and it worked great sitting in the sun (117degrees here in the desert!) I have the 30 and it holds a 24 pk plus extra!!! Easy to use, easy to clean, easy t carry, and when in the car uses very little battery. You can freeze items or refrigerate!!! I use my to refrigerate, however I did freeze my beer by accident! I set it on 37 degrees ( beer is recommended for 41 degrees) but I like mine very cold!!!!

One of the best pieces of kit I’ve bought
I have had this cooler for a few months now and absolutely love it. It has been camping, in the field for training, the beach, worked as a refrigerator during deployment, and on many road trips. The good: The lid is easier to open than the zipper coolers it replaced The internal light and removable divider are nice Low power draw Automatic low voltage shutdown Fairly quiet No ice requirements The not so good The carry handles on the side are shallow. (This is my biggest complaint.) The thermostat is not accurate The so-so Fridge space is limited compared to regular coolers Mine is scuffed up pretty good I highly recommend the battery pack. It is expensive but worth it

Love, love, love
We LOVE this. Our family uses this car fridge when we are spending a day at the lake. We pack our lunch, bring cold drinks, plug it in and go! The fridge offers the ability to set the temp and the food stays cold. You can purchase a battery if you don't want to leave it plugged into your vehicle, or decide to bring it out on the lake, in a tent, etc. This has never failed us and it beats packing a cooler full of ice. It's quiet, very easy to use and doesn't take up much space.

Best for Truckers who travels miles away from home!
This Refrigerator is a must having if your work is traveling. I work over the road company truck driver I was looking for a fridge that is mobile and easy to carry. After finding this fridge I liked the size and quantity. First thing it arrived in my house I immediately started to test its temperature. It does fit 2 gallons of milk that what I wanted to know if it did fit 2 gallons of milk and I was SOLD. The price and its function works so well for me. UPDATE: During these last 6 months it has handle work so well during my traveling. It handle the summer heat and now during winter. I will keep my review up to date. I do recommended this fridge especially if you work as a truck driver. If you are not a truck driver than means this fridge will last you over your weekend vacation whether you are going out doors. Definitely recommend this fridge.

Great Product it worked flawlessly
This is a stellar unit. We used this unit as a freezer for 2 months straight on a trip that we did. It ran on both 12v as well as 110V. It kept all the food frozen to below zero flawlessly the entire time we were gone. I would highly recommend this unit.

My hopes crashed and burned here
Update: So the seller tells me that this 10 degree F fluctuation between temperature setting and cool down is 'normal.' Perhaps that info should be included in the product description, or at the very least in the owner's manual. Otherwise, one might inadvertently end up with frozen food or partially frozen food .... or non-frozen food when that is what was wanted. Would not recommend the unit, or the brand. Doesn't seem to maintain a cold environment. For one thing, the temperature gauge is way off. I set it at 41 degrees and it cools down to 34 degrees. This is while plugged into the wall inside the house. Bought the insulated bag to help the frig maintain cool temp longer; far as I can tell, it doesn't help at all. Also bought a Jackery power bank (300 watts) to power it on the road. Once both units were fully charged off the wall plug-ins, I plugged the 3-prong cord on the frig into the power bank before bed to test it. When I got up in the morning (about 7 hours later) the power bank was down to 14% as the refrigerator apparently had needed a lot of juice during the night. The frig had nothing in it, was sitting inside my air conditioned house (68 degrees at night) up off the floor, and was wearing its insulated bag -- and the lid was closed. Very disappointed with this. And very glad I bought the power bank to keep it plugged into rather than having it plugged into the car since it seems to pull a lot of juice -- and I don't want to test the low-battery protection system on it since the thermostat controlling the compressor seems to be way off. Who knows whether the warning electronics will work properly. I still need to test how it would maintain food temps while traveling. Also want to test using the 12 volt plug-in over the 3-prong with the power bank. Didn't return as it might still do the limited job it was purchased for. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't buy this brand again. I would try another brand.
