2 X Woodside Large Realistic Owl Decoy With Rotating Head Bird/Pigeon/Crow Scarer

I bought these as a last resort (before having to consider more lethal forms of control!) to deter wood pigeons from perching on a series of wooden garden arches supporting growing roses. If they had just used the arches as a convenient resting place, there would have been no problem, but the little pests used them for a leisurely dump after a breakfast of someone else's vegetables, and I was getting fed up with cleaning up mounds of pigeon poo. They worked brilliantly for a while, but pigeons are an intelligent bird, and once they realised that the owl perching on the arch next to them wasn't going to tear them apart, they ignored them! Easy solution - move the owls around! The owls are well made, and the fact that a small, clear plastic vane on the back of the head catches any breeze and causes the head to move makes them very lifelike. Well worth a try in urban or village gardens where neighbours might object to someone taking shots at pigeons with an air rifle! They are also quite decorative and add a little touch of something different to a garden.

With a little care to keep the owls upright the heads turn quite well in a breeze. Only been installed a few weeks but so far the pigeons have mostly kept away, and we had up to ten at a time this year. There are a couple who are “harder” than the others and will still sit on the fence but mostly they are bothering someone else’s garden. The local CATS however, don’t seem much deterred, which is a shame

Lovely garden ornament. If you were considering them to deter squirrels like I did for my balcony, I suggest you get a shot gun instead! The squirrels took absolutely no notice of them at all. Hopped all around them but didn't chew them that's one good thing! The head is only rotated if you push it .. If there was a strong wind enough to influence the head you would need to have them tied down securely as they're quite lightweight. I shall be giving mine away to a friend who says they will look nice in her garden where she has no pests at all!

If you have had problems from large birds like wood pigeons leaving an undesirable mess on your patio don't get the A-team get these instead! They are far more coast effective then having to feed BA baraccus alone for one wkd!! Great bird scarers these & work well for the price - just remember when you get them to take the stoppers out underneath & empty out what is in them which is a plastic sail to go on the back of the owls head & a pack of screws. I then filled mine up a bit with sand that makes them stand better in wind.

These are a great gift I have to say. Perched on top of the caravan. When they moved their heads slowly it looks very realistic. And when they look directly at you 👀.... Run!

The movement of the head does not return to the front of the owl when a breeze swings it Round. So I had to add a small washer retained by a self tapper screw. This added weighting directly below the mouth, which ensures one of them at least does not stick with the face /beak at the back of the head. The second one does not respond on the same way, it still, despite the weight will not return to the front. On closer inspection it looks like the spring inside the head may be askew.

Lieferung erfolgte schnell. Die Eulen wirken auch sehr schön. Daher einen Stern. Nun was hat es gebracht? Nichts! die Raben halten kein bisschen Abstand. ca. 4 Tage hat es gedauert, da lag der Kopf abgerissen auf meinem Beet. Es sah schrecklich aus! Leider keine Kaufempfehlung!

I tempi di consegna sono stati un pò lunghi e purtroppo uno dei due gufi é arrivato senza un occhietto ma il venditore ha tempestivamente risolto il problema spedendomene un altro (che é arrivato integro). Svolge perfettamente la sua funzione ... niente più balconi e marciapiedi devastati dalla pupù dei piccioni! Ormai il ns. gufo é diventato parte della famiglia! Lo consiglio!!!

Bon et beau matériel. Mais ne pas acheter ce produit si la raison est de faire fuir les chats ou autres rongeurs. Ils en ont pas peur. Dans mon jardin j ai vu un chat venir se frotter dessus. Pour moi ce n'est que de la déco.

Cet article est globalement conforme à nos attentes si ce n'est que la rotation de la tête ne fonctionne pas malgré une installation " bien à plat " et conforme aux exigences du fabriquant !!!
