5092832 Stone Chip Shield Black 600ml (Aerosol)

I used this on the nearside plastic wheel arch liners, nearside mudflaps, nearside lower door mouldings and nearside sill cover on my 54 plate VW Passat after I drove through white gloss paint several months ago. No chemicals would touch the gloss paint that made a huge mess on one side of my car. My nearside rear tyre also had a fair amount of white gloss on it, so I used this on the tyre too - just a light covering to hide it. I am very pleased with the results as I now do not have to replace any plastics on the nearside as this product has covered the gloss paint perfectly and you'd never know what happened several months ago. It is a matt finish, but I knew that, plus you can only see one side of a car at a time - so not an issue. 2 coats was all I needed over the whole areas, and I feel it will be very durable and long lasting. Time will tell as I've only used it 3 or 4 days ago. I still have some left in the 600ml can. I gave it 20 minutes in between coats, but I think it was touch dry in less than 10 minutes. The paint goes on evenly, and doesn't leave evidence of being from a rattle aerosol. Spray the paint from around 20cm away in short puffs, and shake the can regularly, that's what I did anyway. Little or no odour whilst using it. It was very user friendly, and has transformed the look of my plastics. The can arrived quickly / on time from the seller. It actually took longer to mask off the areas than it did to use the paint - it's all in the prep, and I did rough up the wheel arch liners with 200 grit sandpaper first. Take your time masking and you'll love the results. I reckon to replace the plastics on my car would have cost me at least £250 / £300 plus all the hassle of removing the old ones etc. I've attached 6 photos, but waited for better weather to do the job. Would I buy this again, yes 100%.

I have used this product for many years when refurbishing car parts. Most recently the fuel tank, shock absorbers, road springs, underbody bracing, anti roll bars plus more on my 2001 MR2. Very easy to use, great finish and seems to last well.

I have used this before and was so pleased I bought another two. The paint goes on smoothly and provides excellent protection from stone chips on the sills of my van. The colour is a little off white but goes perfectly with the Bianca white paintwork. However, I have only given it 4 stars because of the poor packaging. I ordered two tins and they were loosely packed in a cardboard pack with the ends tucked in, similar to the packaging for a book. Both caps had come of the tins and one had gone missing. These should have been packed in a proper box with padding. Luckily, no paint appears to have leaked out, but I think this was pure luck.

The usual Hammerite quality you can always trust, this goes on easily and covers well.

Used this on the van and it went on like liquid armour. One coat and the arches suddenly looked like they were ready to go to war with gravel, potholes, and whatever the M1 throws at them. Sprays thick, sticks like it owes you money, and dries into a tough black finish that makes old metal look brand new — or at least like it hasn’t spent its whole life being abused by road crud. If stone chips had feelings, this stuff would hurt them.

Excellent product and works well. It's just a shame that in two years it has increased in price from £8.14 to £15.67

Bought 2 cans of this did both sides of my transit mk7 all arches and sills goes on good not very white though

Why did you choose this product over others?: Beautiful finish. My gearbox oil pan was looking a little worse for wear so I sanded it down, cleaned it up & applied some of this. It goes on super easy & dries fast. I highly recommend it.
