Westcott E-30440 00 4 inch Titanium Nitride Bonded Super Soft Grip Scissor, Straight - Grey/Yellow

I make wooden models of period sailing ships, and one thing that is an essential tool is a good quality pair of scissors to cut the thread used for rigging. Something that cuts cleanly, is easy to manipulate, narrow blades to get into small areas, and holds it's edge so there's no fraying. These are about as close to perfect as I've found. 6 years later and they are still going strong. The centre joint has not degraded at all, the grips have maintained their shape and form (unlike a different pair I tried where the grips decayed and melted within 12 months). I've not had cause to sharpen these yet and I have used them a fair bit for the original purchase, and for cutting decals for plastic kits. These scissors are light, very easy to hold and use, do not strain the fingers and are just about the right size to get a thumb and forefinger in to use. I've gone through a number of scissors over the years but this one has definitely stood up well to everything I've used them for. Highly recommended for people like myself that need precision scissors, and for people who like needlecraft projects such as tapestry. Worth every penny.

I bought a pair of these a couple of years ago and was so impressed with them, nice and sharp and comfy for my small hands, brilliant for both my decoupage and sewing . When the inner yellow grip came off I didn't hesitate to reorder. Sadly the design of the new pair seems to have changed slightly, they're not as pointy now. Still sharp for sewing, they even cut material. Unfortunately, not so good for my decoupage. Glad I've still got my trusty original pair, even if they are now rather uncomfortable to hold without the gripper. So overall, new design, not so good for me. But still nice scissors for the price.

These are absolutely ideal for cutting out decals from a model aircraft sheet, very happy and would recommend.

Nice and sharp, and a good size, but they don't feel very strong. The metal blades don't recess very far into the rubberised plastic which results in quite a lot of flex when cutting something quite tough. The handles will come together touching before the blades have fully closed. I suspect they would be fine for cutting paper, thin cloth, and string, but for anything with a bit more resolve, you'll have a hard time.

I originally bought these scissors for their slightly curved tips which could get in to tiny spaces to trim threads, but they have become my go to scissors for a lot of sewing and crafting tasks, they are light, with good handle grip and super sharp!

This is the 3rd pair I have bought because I keep losing them (I do find them again in my many unfinished crochet projects). They are ideal for yarn and thread and incredibly sharp. I am left handed and have no problem using them. Very effective and the price is excellent for the quality. Review is asking me to comment on the look of them. Well they look like a pair of scissors! Not sure what else I can say about that.
