I have been looking for a mattress topper suitable for plus size side-sleepers for a while now. I did quite a bit of research before landing on this specific topper. My mattress is very cheap and springy, so I was looking for something that would conceal those properties as well as support my figure properly and alleviate pressure from my back and hips. I knew after the first night of sleeping on this that I had made the right choice. I considered cheaping out and choosing something lower quality (I’m broke), but I chose to invest in my health and comfort and boy am I grateful I did. I wanted to wait until I had slept on this topper for at least a few weeks before writing this review. My thoughts have not changed at all. This mattress topper is clearly very high quality. The assembly was very easy. I got the Twin size (3”) and it seemed ready to sleep on the second I finished assembling it and making my bed. Actually, I DID sleep on it as soon as I finished putting it together…and woke up hours later covered in drool. Yeah, this thing is the real deal. I’m so pleased with the performance of this topper. It fits my twin mattress perfectly and doesn’t give you that weird feeling of “you’re gonna fall off” when you sleep on the edge of it (like some air mattresses do). It also looks really nice and elegant. The topper itself is super soft, so if you were to just throw some sheets directly on top of it, it would probably feel heavenly. I want this thing to last, so I put it on under my mattress protector. It is still insanely comfortable. It supports my frame perfectly. I attribute some of that to my having an extra firm (and springy) mattress underneath, but this mattress topper definitely carries the comfy score 100%. I would wake up with terrible pain in my hips if I slept in my bed for more than 10 hours. I don’t experience that with this mattress topper. One of the biggest highlights for me is the potential for back sleeping. I avoid sleeping on my back because I ALWAYS experience nightmares/sleep paralysis when I do. I’ve gone to sleep on my side with this topper and woken up on my back in the morning - and I was not awoken by nightmares. Don’t ask me for a scientific explanation on that because I don’t have one. All I can say is that this mattress topper is awesome in numerous ways. Overall: I would highly recommend this topper for everyone, especially plus size folk like myself. It has been wonderful for both side and back sleeping. I can’t say much for tummy sleepers, but that’s not great for your health anyway, so I’m not gonna try it. I almost wish I could go back in time to before I bough this so I could experience the bliss of sleeping on it for the first time. Do yourself and your body a favor - don’t cheap out. Get the good mattress topper for the extra however many dollars. Your body and brain will thank you.

I was hesitant that anything could resolve the problem with my back pain that my mattress was causing me. I had purchased this memory foam mattress prior to my knee surgery this past week in the hope that it could help my overall comfort during recovery. Not only has it helped my back, but it has been a very comfortable recovery so far. The mattress is thick, good quality, the fit was good and the firmness was just right for me. I'm very happy with this purchase.

I debated between the tempurpedic and the viscosoft topper. Decided to go with the viscosoft because the price is significantly less. The topper immediately expanded with no issues and was basically ready to use within a hour of taking it out of the box, there was off gassing and the typical mattress smell for the first 24-48 hours. I put it on a new memory foam mattress that was just too firm. The viscosoft topper has been so comfortable, I literally don't want to get out of bed. I myself only weigh 92 lbs and my significant other is 220 lbs. It's very hard for us to come to agreement on a mattress or topper as everything for me is not soft enough and everything to him is too soft and he sinks in. I can happily report that he loves this topper just as much as I do! Even though I don't weigh much I still feel my body sinking in just enough to be comfortable and supportive. I no longer wake up feeling sore and am getting much better sleep. I placed a cooling mattress protector over it and it seems okay, not overly hot. Because of how soft/plush the foam is I am concerned about how long it will last. With blankets, sheets, mattress protector, and the topper cover on the memory foam I still have concern that my pets jumping on and off the bed could rip or tear the foam. Time will tell how long it lasts.

After several days of researching mattress toppers and considering the escalating prices, I couldn't find a clear no-brainer choice. So, taking into account that every topper I read about had some negative reviews either about the comfort or the customer service, I looked for the 5-star ratings with an eye to the percentage of 1 and 2 stars. Finally, I came upon the ViscoSoft 3-inch memory foam topper, and while some said it was too soft, others too hard, the vast majority praised it. Obviously, comfort is a subjective and personal opinion, but since the large majority of people gave it a 5-star rating, I went with it. Delivery was on par with most of my Amazon deliveries. It came well packaged and was easy to unpack. We left it out on top of another bed to allow it to expand and off-gas (only a slight odor). After only one day, we put it on our bed. First impressions when initially lying on it were that it felt a little firm for my taste, but considering we had just removed a 2-inch TempPedic topper that was about 5 years old, most things would feel firmer. The first night left me somewhat concerned as I felt my hip and knee pressure points were triggered but not to the pain level they were with the old topper. The second night was much better, and as I write this, I just finished the 3rd night, and I'm quite pleased with the comfort level. My wife reports the same experience as I have. The overall quality of the foam and topper cover meet my expectations, especially considering the price (about $ 200.00) paid . I docked one star because of the initial firmness which I may revaluate latter if warranted.

This mattress topper is totally changing my sleep for the absolute better! We have been sleeping on a very firm latex mattress that we got probably a decade ago. My husband and I prefer firm mattresses but it was starting to feel unsupportive. Lots of aches and pains! Decided to try a mattress topper before buying a new mattress. I believe this was described somewhere as a firm topper. To me it isn't firm, because you do sink into it a bit when you are on top, but it is supremely supportive! It feels like a hug. It erased my back pain by night 2 of sleeping on it, I couldn't believe it. I purchased the 4 inch topper because it could get to me quicker. I'm really glad I got that thickness. I'm sure 3 inches would have been fine, but I think 2 inches would not have made a significant difference. This fit perfectly on top of our king size bed and our sheets made for deep mattresses also fit perfectly. We slept on it the first night. There was a very slight odor, but not bad or nothing that kept us from sleeping on it. So far this seems like a very very high quality mattress topper that I hope we can use for a few years! All I know is that I was very sore before I started sleeping on this and now I'm not. Sold!

So far this has fit the bill on what I was searching for. It appears to be of good quality and it is exceptionally very comfortable. I got the Queen size and I'm loving it, feels like luxury. It is high density, heavy, and it is a medium firm plushy feel. You don't feel yourself sinking into it when you roll over, and aren't trying to climb out of a deep hole either, easy roll over. I do have a super firm bed from Bowles Mattress, the HD one that you can flip over and use both sides and I wanted to build upon it to my liking. Started with a firm latex thinking that would do but it didn't have enough cush feel like a cloud, so I got this and put on top of that and now I'm in heaven. So far no aches or pains in my lower back or anywhere. I also have a medium firm cloud temperpedic bed which is so comfortable when you go to sleep in it, but I would wake up in PAIN in my lower back, so that led me to this bed I have now. This is a 2 thumbs up mattress topper for me so far!! (Just wanted to also add, that this doesn't have an odor, it doesn't slip around on my bed and it doesn't sleep hot either like my Temperpedic Cloud does. If I could give this topper more stars instead of just 5 I would!! Thank you very much to the company that makes this (don't change a thing) and to Amazon for making it available to us!!!) (UPDATE- Dec.9, 2018) - I STILL, have nothing but positive reviews on this topper, it really is a great topper, it has been worth every penny in my case!! I don't regret getting it at all. (UPDATE- Nov. 29, 2019) - This topper is still great, holding up very well, looks and feels the same as the day I got it and still very much pleased with it!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOPPER!!! {UPDATE- March 2021} - Mattress topper is still holding up great, still very comfy. I am still very happy with this purchase whenever this topper does wear out, I will definitely be buying another for sure! I should get a discount for all the good reviews I give them, you'd think, but whatever, I do love this topper though and like helping people when I know something is a good product. I appreciate seeing people share their opinions of products, as long as it's "HONEST", it's very helpful.

UPDATE to the update: The manufacture sent a message but I never opened it as I have always been advised to go thru Amazon for any vendor contact which has been done in the past. BUT the topper still hangs over the end of the mattress making putting a fitted sheet on the bed much more difficult than the task should be. Because of this difficulty I am subtracting one star. UPDATE: We have found the corner straps to be of no use in keeping this topper in place. So, we have cut the straps at the side of the topper then sewed (the head strap to the foot strap) together from top to the bottom so the topper can no longer slide down the mattress which it did even with a rubber rug mat between the topper & mattress. Husband was able to adjust the topper so that it sit to size on the mattress but sleeping on it the topper was again off the end of the mattress before we remanufactured the elastic straps.I feel the design needs to be relooked at this item. This topper allowed me to have the most restful sleep I've had in moonths. I will tell how good the topper really is the night after my PT session; before now I never got any rest the night after the appointment, IF I get even a half a night's rest I will say this thing is worth every penny. My only complaint is this California-King topper is about 3-4inches longer than my Serta California-King mattress which causes the topper to be bunched up when putting the fitted sheet on the bed. It is a 2-3 inches narrower than my mattress. I wish the issue was the other way around...wider and shorter. (Per Rufus this is the topper measurements: King: 76" x 80" and California King: 72" x 84" (4" narrower but 4" longer) This topper is available in California King size as a variation of this product. A Cal-King topper would typically measure 72" x 84" x 3" to properly fit a California King mattress) I could not find these measurements in the description. The straps helped but they did not really hold the topper secure on the mattress. My fitted sheet did more holding the topper in place. We found the topper was fully expanded within 12 hours. We did not have to wait the seller's reccomended 24-48 hours.

Obviously I will update if anything changes over time, but this "ViscoSoft 3.5 lbs. Density 3-Inch Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper (Queen) – Includes Ultra Soft Removable Cover" right off the bat seems a lot better quality than the many I've purchased in the past, including the highly -reviewed NovaForm one from C O S T C O that ended up being a dud after seeming great for a brief time. This one I feel is different because it is so much heavier of a weight and doesn't stay indented like the others. It's hard to explain, but it is soft without sinking in to it. We have a Serta pillowtop mattress that failed and sunk in the middle after only a few months of bliss. ALL mattresses are horrible quality these days, regardless of brands or reviews and there is nothing changing, so we had to get creative with toppers, which led us to the long road to this one. My husband wants a firm mattress & I can't sleep on firm & we both have neck & back issues. THIS topper seems strangely suited to both of us. I watched their video (which, GREAT job by the guy talking about it, very interesting) was informative & like all of the unique traits. I will without fail change this review if anything changes because the whole bedding situation in this country (and lack of quality or workmanship) is my pet peeve & am tired of being scammed. I do not believe this will be the case here, because there does seem to be pride in workmanship. UPDATE 3/02/21: We recently stopped using the one we had but will now likely buy another of this same one. We have found that ALL memory foam degrades (not something you'll see, but you'll feel it in body aches), though most are 6months to a year before you start feeling the effects, this one happens to have lasted longer. Another thing we have recently done is watch videos on You tube re: removing the innards of our regular mattress with springs (they say the problem is almost NEVER the springs, it's the memory foam layers) and replaced it with a "Sleep On Latex" (great company/website btw, not the one used in the videos) medium firm 3" LATEX pad, enclosed with a mattress case, then got another latex topper to actually use as a topper (this one in the SOFTEST rating (which is NOT soft when you are talking latex, trust me, get the soft for one on top). This will be a lifetime mattress set-up that solves the no good premade mattress at any cost anymore problem. Being the "Princess & the Pea" that I am, I still prefer to have this memory foam topper on top AS WELL, but unfortunately it will just need to be swapped out every couple years for new (while the latex ones remain a stabile foundation). Anyway this is a great topper that should at least give you a few years of great rest. The old one will go on a rarely used guest bed. ***UPDATE 12/3/22 Rotation/turning 180 degrees worked! The second one lives on (and I now realize I prob could have been doing this with the first one) UPDATE 11/25/22: Starting to get those familiar body aches a year & a half into the 2nd order of this, which is a frustrating but unfortunately expected part of this process, and much longer than any other brand in the past. What I am going to try this time is rotating the pad. If that doesn't work, we will swap the newer one for the original (currently on unused bed). If that doesn't work, we will reluctantly come back for a 3rd (it really is the only option out there anymore, and this is definitely the best choice vs the ones that degrade at the 6 mo point).
